Height: 5'5 -- that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Default Since I want to do the V-Day challenge, I actually weighed myself today ...

... after swearing that I wouldn't ever do it again.

Ugh. I've gained seven pounds since my wedding in August. Must. Try. Harder. I'm still 30 pounds below my highest ever ... but seriously, I worked so hard to get in shape for my wedding, and even if I wasn't skinny enough to please certain attendees, I thought I looked good. They were taking my dress in until the last second.

I can blame it on the fact that my company is moving (without me -- it's a cross-country move) in three weeks, and that I'm stressed because I haven't found a job yet, but really ... Must. Try. Harder.

I hate to exercise, but ... Must. Try. Harder.

The strongest thing going for me? I love to cook, which cuts down on my consumption of processed food. Also, it's only a few months until the produce in my area improves from this icky winter stuff. Must. Keep. Going.

Lemongrass and asparagus chicken tonight to cheer myself up! It's more fun to cook than to eat

Thanks for letting me vent!

a 7lb gain is nothing compared to what you've lost. if you keep going strong and remember that it's always possible to start back up again, you'll reach your weight loss goals. if you hate exercising, even going for walks helps!

it sounds like you're getting right back on the horse -- you can do it!

7 pounds since august? That's nothing at all! I've gained 5 pounds in a week or so (not true weight but between bad eating, TOM, etc...) that I then have to lose again. 7 is only 2 more pounds than that. Good job!

Keep on going and I'm sure you'll make your goals.

Oh, honey, I hear that - I put on about 10 pounds after my wedding in July... :0 I don't necessarily regret it, because I seriously needed a break after all of that stress, but I am excited to be back on track now.

It's a new year - we can do this!

Thanks, everyone.

I'm just POed at myself because I had to give up my gym membership -- I'm losing my job in ... let's see ... 16 days (company is moving across the country). I didn't take advantage after we came back from the honeymoon, and now all I have is Jillian yelling at me in our living room.

I put the Feb 05 in my avatar to remind myself that I've come a long way already ... and the fact that it's been six years means those 30 lbs are probably gone for good. That's something, anyway.

Anyway, onto being positive and sneaking into the JCC to weigh myself

I, too, am kinda impressed that you only gained 7 lbs since August. I mean, that goes to show that a lot of it has become a lifestyle change already! I also think you were probably hitting it pretty hard before your wedding -- SUCH an incentive -- and then once the day passed, it was easy to slip back into old habits (though not all the way, you've proved!). I think just about everyone on this board who has made good progress with an event in mind can testify to backsliding a bit once the day was done. NOT TO MENTION the job stress -- that could do it to just about anyone, too.

The gym membership situation sux, but you're obviously still exercising if you hear Jillian yelling at you! hahaha I dread exercise, too. I just finished my workout, but I had to pretty much drag myself kicking and screaming to do it. I'm TRYING lately to get into a mindset that there are tons of stuff I don't feel like doing that I still have to do, so add exercise to the list (one more thing, roll eyes).

You can absolutely get your mojo back, you aren't really very far FROM it, from the sounds of it!
