Hope the 1st week of the new year has been good to you, and the scales

Just wanted to share this with you

I went back to work on Tusday after 4 weeks off (I had the flu in the lead up to xmas) I hit the sales and got a some new clothes in the lead up to going back to work as I have finally dropped a dress size so I was looking and feeling good as I strolled back in to the office. though out the day I had people coming up to me and telling me how different i looked and the support for the guys this week has been great.
On thursday I was under pressure to get a big project finished I worked flat out and through lunch, by 3pm i was crashing I needed sugar so i went on a biscuit hunt... very bad i know, but i was intercepted by one of the guys in the nicest way possible he said.. step away from the tin Jacko.... dont do it, i was close to tears so i wimpered but i need it, he was so sweet he said here have this and gave me an orange.
I went back into my office and ate it, once I started feeling better I went and said thanks. I was then told that everyone was so impressed at what I have done so far they where all on the look out and all planned to help me reach my goal before my birthday in July. that was it i cried.

The kindness of other people and the support i have has made me even more determined to do this. I didnt tell my co-workers I was on a diet they have just picked up on it, but their support was such a boost and this week has gone really well even though i was worried i would pig out once back at work.

Sorry there is no real point to my thread except to say thanks to everyone not just my friends but the people on here too, support really is the key

How WONDERFUL! Didn't that make you feel like you were cared for by SO MANY there - what a great story! It seems like so many people don't want to step in for fear of "being nosy" or tend to sabotage good plans.

Congrats on the progress - that's great - hope you're feeling much improved, as well!

You tend to hear so much on diet boards about the office food pushers, the ones who leave cake on your desk when they know you're dieting. It's so good to hear about people being supportive instead. Nice story!
