Default Ever stuff yourself with normal calories?

I ate a homemade pizza for myself for lunch, around 250 calories. I eat this fairly frequently. I was absolutely uncomfortably stuffed. Unfortunately, "stuffed" snuck up on me so I didn't know to stop eating.

Anyone else ever do this? I've been passing through the kitchen all day thinking "blech". I don't want to think about food.

It's just weird because sure, I can overdo food, but I wasn't expecting it. Usually mid-meal I know exactly what I'm doing and therefore end up stopping myself. This time I didn't know I was eating too much...because it wasn't too much. A 250 calorie pizza four hours after breakfast should not make a person uncomfortably full.

You are not alone. I've had this happen to me too. I try not to overeat, but if I'm sticking to my calorie limit and I feel stuffed, I've decided not to fret too much about it.

Was it on a high fiber crust? Lots of fiber (with few calories) will do that to me!

Yeah - I've felt completely stuffed on a 300cal bowel of oatmeal and apples before. My non-scientific guess is that it has something to do with hormones and stress, because, if we are talking about the week before my period, I could eat the whole bowel and still be looking around 5 minutes later for something else to eat.

I've definitely felt that way. I've never sat and thought about it as being stuffed on such and such amount of calories, but while I do count them, I've just noticed I can get full without finishing my controlled portion. Had I finished anyway each time, I certainly would have been stuffed.

I am finding this happening more and more lately, so I just figure that as I am getting smaller, I have to adjust my food intake. I hate feeling overstuffed! I am miserable for hours. The last thing that did it was oatmeal the other day. I guess instead of 3/4 cup, I should have had 1/2 cup or even less. I also have to learn to CHEW my meals thoroughly. I think this will also help me determine when I am satisfied (way before I get stuffed, I hope).

Its definitely a work in progress, but I have to make a conscious effort to pay more attention. ****, I dont want to be stretching my stomach out with food!
