Default CalPal?

Does anyone have one of these? I'm planning on starting a diet (and calorie counting is the only thing that has every worked for me) and think it would make it a bit easier to keep track of things especially at work. I know there are the free websites but I have no internet access at work.

I use a notebook too :-) I have a list of fruits and veggies that I eat most frequently and the calorie count for them in the front of the notebook and on my fridge for easy referance. And I use fitday to look up calorie counts of things I don't have numbers for.

The calpal looks neat, although I'm not understanding how you enter things into it, since it looks so small. If you get one, CrazedLedZepFan, I'd like to know how it works and how you like it :-)

Basically you enter your recommended daily calorie intake (you figure your BMI) and then subtract whatever you eat from it over a 24 hour period. When you have some left over at the end of the day you know your losing weight. Nothing super extraordinary but I thought it would be handy.

I used to have a spreadsheet on my computer and type in the number of calories for each meal and snack and it would total it up at the bottom. Of course I had to remember everything I had eaten at work and the number of calories for that thing.

If you look up CalPal you can see more about it on the site.

This would make calorie counting easier, I used to have a weight watchers calculator that was like that and it made working the program almost fun.

Please let us know if it is a scam, I am often reluctant to buy things off the internet.

I am another who uses the pad and pen method, I can use it anytime and don't need to be near a computer.

They have them on Amazon, too. They've gotten pretty good reviews.
