Smile New to the site... but not to the game.

Hi everybody! This thing called weight loss is not new to me, however this website is Hoping to get support, and maybe give a little.

I am 35 years old. Weigh the heaviest I ever have... started out about a week ago at 294lbs. My ideal goal is 135, but that seems a little impossible to me right now, so I'm taking it slow.

I have a great friend who is a personal trainer, and is trying to help me out. I just have to admit... I have a hard time helping myself. I feel defeated before I even get started.

I am not on a "special" diet, just trying to change habits... small and slow steps.
I have cut back on my food intake a lot, and have started walking. This week I have walked 4 miles... which is huge for me!

My feet hurt, my legs hurt, my back hurts.. well you get the point. When you are my size... it is so hard just to get moving.

It's all a head game... your mind has to be stronger than your temptations and weaknesses.

Anyway... just wanted to introduce myself, and hopefully join a great group of people with like minded efforts.

Just keep at it. Especially with the getting up and moving bit. My head and my body have a discussion daily. My head knows that I need to work out for my body, but that part of my body is screaming and hunting for excuses. Work through it, let that part talk and then shut it down LOL and crawl up on the elliptical, take a walk, whatever it takes just do it. I have found that its the getting started that is the hardest, then its the pushing through the wall. I just push my wall back a little bit each day and for the 1st 30 days at least, no breaks not a day off. So far day 5 its working

You can totally do it

Hi and welcome! You are so totally right about weight loss being a head game! I was struggling last night with the mental game and fearing that I would backslide into my old habits and gain all my weight back. But today my mental game is strong! Good luck with your goals!

I feel your pain; I sometimes wonder how I am going to get all the way to the end, but I am determined, because this is the last time Im losing the same pounds!

Welcome .... I am a newbie as well and I totally " get " where you are coming from ! I have been an emotional eater for years and find that actually getting out and moving is the HARDEST part of this journey ! Good luck and would love to see you reach your goals at a rate you are comfortable at !
