Tomorrow is my first appointment with Cary Surgical Specialists & Dr. Tyner. I'm nervous, excited, and full of questions, but I'm ready to start LIVING my life instead of just existing in it.

After much research, I'm thinking the roux-en-y gastric bypass is probably the best option for me, but I'll go to my appointment with an open mind and hear what the doctor suggests. As far as insurance, I have called and verified that the actual specific surgeries (bypass, band & sleeve) are covered. They do however, require numerous pre-tests be done before final approval.

And the journey begins...

Thanks for the encouragement!!! Insurance has approved!!! I will be going to my results visit tomorrow and should have a surgery date after that. Omgosh!!! This is really happening and I couldn't be more excited to begin my life on the other side of WLS.

Congratulations! Wow, you just FLEW through that process, didn't you!? It took me months before I was approved by my insurance, but that was because I had asthma. Keep us posted!

UPDATE: I have a surgery date!!!! December 2, 2010 is the day. This is the first day of my second chance at feeling good and enjoying life.
