Smile Slim in 6

Hi Everyone,

I am brand new to the site and was on here looking to see how anyone that has tried slim in 6 has liked it. I have heard a lot of great reviews on it so I decided I would order it. I will be starting next week and just wanted anyones advice, if you would give any, before I started the program.

I have heard that it is pretty repetitive and boring but I am okay with that :P My only concern is DOES IT WORK? I have already altered my diet and I am really focusing on the fruits, veggies, whole grains and lean protein (I still splurge occasionally but I am working on it!).

I also ordered Jillian Michael's 30 day shred which I would like to start after I finish this program and work out some sort of rotation between the two. Does anyone have any advice on that as well?

Any help is much appreciated... Thanks!!

Abby

Welcome!

I just finished Slim in 6 on Thursday- and boy did it work!

I lost 15 pounds and a total of 20" and feel fantastic.

It does get pretty repetitive- especially the last four weeks while you're doing phase 3. But, Debbie is a great trainer. She's kind and encouraging while still retaining a bit of an edge to push you. She jokes around with the people in the video and is constantly reminding you to "keep your abs in" or "breathe!". You're going to hate her at times, because it's tough, but you'll hate her with a smile on your face, haha.

I also love that it was in 3 phases- makes the transition easy. And they're great work outs. I was encouraged enough by the exercise that I ate very well and continue to do so. I definitely recommend it, especially if the "boring" part doesn't bother you.

Hi Abby (I'm an Abby too! )

Slim in 6 is very effective at toning and over all slimming down. And, yes, it does get very repetitive and boring. Eventually I put my earbuds in and just followed along visually--that really helped.

I've "graduated" to Debbie's Slim Series program...it's the same style as Slim in 6, but with more variety to the work outs (yay!). She also incorporates handweights in these workouts. I still use the final Slim in 6 workout once a week (there's a leg lift sequence in there that is GREAT for the butt and thighs!).

Overall, I really like the results I've gotten from Slim Training and will definitely be keeping these videos to rotate in and out with my other programs.

Good luck!

Default Just got the program today!

I am really excited... I just got the program today in the mail. I read over the nutrition info and it is very similar to what I have just started. I also took my measurements and wow!! I didn't realize I had gotten this bad (just makes for a better "after")... I also took before pictures.

I cant wait to see the results and if anyone would like to start this program or any other 6 week program with me I would love to have some buddies! I will post weekly to show my results. I am only measuring myself I am not going to be weighing myself because I think it can be disheartening sometimes when the scale doesn't change even though inches are still coming off. Plus I don't own a scale :P Well wish me luck!

I just started Slim in 6 today. The phase 1 workout was way too easy for me, but I have been doing things like Zumba and Jillian workouts, so.... I am going to go ahead and go to phase 2 tomorrow. I don't have the written direstions, just the videos. Can someone who has the written info tell me how long I am supposed to stay on Phase 2? I may ignore what I'm supposed to do, but I'd still like to know. My plan is to finish Slim in 6 and then move on to P90X and then Insanity.

Phase 1: Start it up for 1 week
Phase 2: Ramp it up for 2 weeks or 1 week (only if you feel ready)
Phase 3: Burn it up for 3 weeks or 4 weeks(only if you feel ready)

I am turning the 6 weeks into 12 weeks, however, and just doubling what is recommended for the videos. I hope this helps!

Hey Sailorglitter (love sailormoon by the way) I know what you mean about those lunges! My knees aren't aching or anything yet but I do find myself doing the modified moves when I feel like i cant do anymore! Also make sure your knees are not extending over your toes when you lunge... that may be causing your knee pain. The point of slim in 6 is really to keep you moving. If you cant do lunges do jumping jacks or do squats.

Did my workout this morning and man I am pooped (also took the dog for a 30min walk right afterwords).

Default Hi Everyone!!

So glad to find some fellow slim in 6ers. I just started. Did the first video Sat and I kept thinking this is easy. This is cool. And then...... the next morning. My legs were on fire! Those lunges that I thought were no big deal really did the job. So i skipped yesterday and will start the video again tonight. Still sore but able to walk better than yesterday.

Are you following the diet exactly? I am just trying to eat clean and balanced right now. I'm not much of a cook so I don't enjoy preparing meals that much.

Any tips or advice?

I did move on to phase 2 today. That was much better for me. My legs are a bit sore, but then I have also done 5 miles of leslie sansone every day for the last 3 days. I think that I really do like the Slim in 6 workout now that I have done phase 2. I'm going to keep doing it until it gets as easy for me as phase 1 was yesterday, then I'll move to phase 3. I'm just hoping this helps me fit properly into my size 8 jeans in the next 3 weeks. I can get in them now but they are VERY tight. I have very specific pair that I am wanting to wear for a specific occasion. Everyone cross fingers for me that I can stay strong for the SI6 workout and that it gets me in those jeans.

I am right there with you Twilightbella I am not much of a cook so in the morning i usually do oatmeal with some fruit or eggs with some cottage cheese (sometimes if im in a hurry just a fruit smoothie). Then for snack Ill usually do a yogurt. For lunch I have a sandwich on whole grain bread or a grilled chicken salad with some veggies. For the next snack either fruit or veggies. Then for dinner (try to make this my smallest meal) usually just some chicken or a salad.

I changed my eating habits to where I would be comfortable and I knew I wouldnt go off on a binge or anything. Ohh also remember lots and lots of water! That is something that will fill you up and if you want something with flavor make some tea.

Hey Fitgirlygirl you should have no problem fitting into those jeans as long as you do the program as instructed and follow a great eating guide! You should definitely hit your goal.

Good luck to you both!

Sailor - if I were you I'd do movements as close to the lunges as I could without causing pain. Like doing a step to the front (or back for reverse lunges), but not bending down like you would to lunge. That way you are still working the same muscle groups, just not as strongly.

Day 2 of phase 2 done! Size 8 here I come!

Ugh I know those lunges suck... I did them with a smile on my face today though and sucked it up. They have really gotten a lot easier since I started the video, which makes me feel so much better!

You guys keep up the great work! The six weeks will be over before ya know it!
