Default Big Butt!

Six weeks ago I decided that I wanted to kick-up the exercise a little to try and tone/tighten my lower body with a view to losing an inch or two of my behind. This is not about weightloss, I consider myself at maintainence. Anyhow I've been doing a combination of Les Mills classes (Body Pump, Attack, Combat) usually 4 a week plus a couple of hours of gym.

So I thought I'd review what I have achieved in the last six weeks. Well I'm 2lbs lighter. I've lost another inch of my chest which is now 36.5" (not welcome) and another inch of my waist (now 30") and my hips, well they measure just the same as they were at 41". Darn my big butt. Will I ever fit comfortably into size 8 (UK12) pants? Not by exercise it seems. SIGH

The butt is usually the last thing to go on a female, damn our child bearing bodies! Your diet is the most important factor here, not the exercise. Exercise is the "icing" on the cake, so to speak.

I completly agree that diet is 90% of the equation. You cannot exercise away bad food choices. That said, I do think you need to maybe intensify your work outs, for myself I found that once I started running, much more intense than walking, my legs and butt started to show the difference. Also if you are weight training to not be afraid of lifting heavy and making some lean muscle mass which will burn more calories even at rest...

But hey, you lost inches in other places and that is only the beginning to losing inches somewhere else... Just be patient...

My diet is clean and I have lost nearly 130lbs by nearly diet alone. Like I said weightloss was not my goal. I was just hoping that my butt shape/size would benefit from the increase in exercise and was just slightly disappointed that this had not happened yet.
