Default feel like I just can't get past 173

I've been stuck around 173 for a few weeks now. I'll go down a little then go back up and so on. I don't know but think it may have something to do with when I first started on my journey I was eating really well and doing cardio 5x a week. I'm still eating well but giving myself some "cheat" days and only doing cardio(c25k) 3x a week. I've also noticed that I don't seem to have any energy anymore and that I'm ready for bed around 8 or 9 which is way earlier then I normally go to bed, so I don't know if that has something to do with it. I feel like I need a kick start again but I'm not sure how or what to do..

Hey there, 173 sister It sounds like your answer is right there in your post - you lost weight while you were eating on plan and doing cardio five times a week. Now you aren't doing those things and you aren't losing weight, so maybe it's time to get back to the things you were doing before that worked for you.

I'm definitely struggling with the exercise too - the weather in February is so dreary where I am that it makes me want to curl up in bed all day and not do anything. Which is funny, because I know I feel so much better and so much more energetic when I'm active... We can do this!!!

Ditto to what Smisen said. Also, you may want to add a little strength training in there. Building your muscles (toned, not bulky) will help burn more calories, even when you're not exercising. Plus just changing up your routine a little would probably help push you past your plateau. Don't get discouraged--I know the feeling of being "stuck"...I was stuck at 159lbs for a little over a month. The 150s have been a sloooow decade for me

I'm definitely having the same problem, and it always seems to happen to me right when I'm about to hit a new "decade." Just step up your workouts and remember to keep drinking your water. You'll move on soon, don't worry!!

I totally got stuck in the 170's too. Maybe you could try to add some body weight exercises and bump your cardio again. Play around a little. It was slow but once I built some muscle it started again. Good luck!

i too am having the exact same problem. I have been at this weight since the end of december. I am find for most of the day and then when i come home from the gym, i am starving. I think i am going to try taking something small like a piece of fruit to have right after them gym. THen i will have time to make dinner before I eat everything in sight (at least i keep only healthy stuff in the house, but that is stil extra calories)

I agree though, up the workout routine. and stay op

Thanks for all the support and advise! I think I'm going to up my exercise and see if that alone will help boost the lose again. I don't want to eat so strict that this won't last but I think I definately need to workout on my "cheat" days to counter those extra/bad calories. I think I'm eating enough. Can't hurt trying this for a few more weeks and then change it up again if I need too...
