Hey girlfriends.
Val, welcome back, with a bang! Congrats on staying on track.
Debi, happy grandparenting! I was never a fan of babies until I had my own. Recently, as I see my sons getting so big and grown-up, I started considering the pluses of spending time with grandchildren (although that's a future ambition that I pray is not realized for another 10 years!). I see the pleasure in enjoying them and handing them back.
I'm back home again. Settlement hearing went well, and I will be free to be completely me as of Feb. 22. So ready to move forward with my life!
I spent two days going very-low carb and lost six pounds. Then yesterday, didn't make it to breakfast before I had to go to court, and didn't get out of court till after lunch, so I made some rash eating decisions (fast food) on the three-hour drive home. By the end of the day, my calories were where they were supposed to be, but I didn't keep control over the carbs and gained back two pounds. I noticed that in the morning, on the empty stomach, I was feeling very alert and clear headed. Then just 20 minutes after eating something with carbs, I started feeling groggy again.
I'm thinking that the low-carb thing is the best plan for me to stick with. I really wanted to eat a nutrient-balanced diet, but that doesn't seem right for my body. This morning, I switched back to the very-low carbs and I'm feeling good, energized and clear-headed, and I don't feel like taking a nap.
I started reading
Fat Loss Code today. The author says to keep carbs below 20 gms for a week. That's net grams, so I get to subtract fiber from the total. Phew! I thought I was going to be missing out on my favorite fibrous veggies. The author insists on having a serving of broccoli a day. So today, I'm taking mine in the form of cream of rapini soup for lunch. Yum!
I got referred to
Miracle Noodles the other day, so I ordered some. I'll let you know how they taste.
Have a great day!
