  • Heather_ hope I started it right!

Today is finally here and Im waiting to hear about my new grandson. He is scheduled to be taken at 10:30am. We are going up to see him tonight. For now Im trying to keep from nervous eating! Im thinking about putting a walk dvd in and walk and then walk again until I hear or I wear myself out.
I had a 1lb loss for the week.I was hoping for more but I will take it! At this rate I will make goal in 2010!
  • Debbie -- great! Don't forget to add a post to the last thread directing to the new one.

    Good luck with the grandbaby!!

I'm swimming in work and will be in and out this week...
  • It was nice to get up this morning to temps in the high teens rather than below zero.

So far I've had a POP day. Feeling good about getting through to tomorrow w/o any disasters.

Deb, give grandbaby a smooch from me.
  • hello ladies! a newbie to the site and wanted to join in as a 40 something trying to loose this weight. today i have eaten well but wont be able to workout until after hubby gets home. the little one is sick so it's been a hands on day. going up and down the stairs has been helpful. lol i am trying to loose 2lbs/wk. has anyone tried any of the wii fit games? the gym is great and so is the eliptical at home but i'd love to switch it up a bit.
  • Hi girls!

First of all, welcome to Mrs. Emery, our newbie who just joined. We're so glad you want to come play with us! I'm about to have my son bring his Wii down to the living room so I can do some WiiFit during the day. He's been hogging it in his room, not using it for exercise, so I thought I'd better make some use of it before it becomes obsolete. I will enjoy chatting that up with you, because that helps me stick with the program.

I just arrived at the motel where I'm spending the night before my divorce settlement hearing tomorrow morning. I'm doing okay at the moment. We've agreed to everything and all the paperwork is done, so all I have to do is sign papers. Trying not to get caught up with thinking about the situation, so I'm going to just watch Chuck and Heroes and then go to bed.

It's a cheap hotel room, so I'm feeling nervous about staying here. I can hear men wearing cowboy boots walking around outside in the parking lot. The room smells a little of smoke. I think sports fishermen stay here most of the time. Not in a rough part of town, just a small town with not many options for better hotels. The room's clean, and I'm not feeling sorry for myself having to stay here. That's progress for me!

So I'll prop a chair in front of the door, put my cell phone under my pillow and throw the covers over my head. Then the boogey man can't get me, right?

(I am not managing my fear/anger/anxiety with food...more progress!)
  • My grandson is precious and a gift from God! He seems to be a calm little boy. Which is a big change from what his sister was like at this stage.LOL
I ate super light all day long yesterday to allow a meal last night. We went to logans and I did really well except for those stupid warm and wonderful tasting rolls.I ate 3!! I am thankful they are much smaller than they were last time we ate there.LOL
Geo- hope things go in your favor today!!
Ms Emory_ welcome and nice to meet you!
heather- I will try and remember to add stop to the old post..i forgot about that.OPPS!!
judy- they are calling for more snow this weekend and next week. Guess we can blame it on that old ground hog!
    hi to everyone else..
  • FINALLY! I just can't seem to be able to log in lately. I was actually surprised when I was able to log in on the first try. I've tried requesting my old password for my original user name, but it won't come thru to my email until after it's already expired. Security systems - can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

Hello everyone! I've been kinda sorta on track - not doing all the things I should, but considering everything that's going on in my little corner, I'm just glad to be losing. I logged 4.25 pounds two weeks ago, and 1.25 last week. I just hope it goes down a little more this week - then I'll really feel like I'm on a roll.

It's too cold to ride the horse, and there's been way too much work to do as always in January. But Spring is around the corner! We're almost half way from the winter solstice to the spring equinox. The bulb catalogs have started coming in the mail. If I could just open that silly treadmill and get started...

Kiss all those grand-babies for me. Wish I had one. I kiss the dachshund all the time, but it's just not the same

    Glad to be back,
    Valerie
  • Deb, congrats on the grandson. You'll have to post a picture as soon as you can. Glad all is well with the baby and mama.
  • Welcome back Val and BRAVO on the nice start losing again. You're right Spring will be here soon!
  • Hey girlfriends.

Val, welcome back, with a bang! Congrats on staying on track.

Debi, happy grandparenting! I was never a fan of babies until I had my own. Recently, as I see my sons getting so big and grown-up, I started considering the pluses of spending time with grandchildren (although that's a future ambition that I pray is not realized for another 10 years!). I see the pleasure in enjoying them and handing them back.

I'm back home again. Settlement hearing went well, and I will be free to be completely me as of Feb. 22. So ready to move forward with my life!

I spent two days going very-low carb and lost six pounds. Then yesterday, didn't make it to breakfast before I had to go to court, and didn't get out of court till after lunch, so I made some rash eating decisions (fast food) on the three-hour drive home. By the end of the day, my calories were where they were supposed to be, but I didn't keep control over the carbs and gained back two pounds. I noticed that in the morning, on the empty stomach, I was feeling very alert and clear headed. Then just 20 minutes after eating something with carbs, I started feeling groggy again.

I'm thinking that the low-carb thing is the best plan for me to stick with. I really wanted to eat a nutrient-balanced diet, but that doesn't seem right for my body. This morning, I switched back to the very-low carbs and I'm feeling good, energized and clear-headed, and I don't feel like taking a nap.

I started reading Fat Loss Code today. The author says to keep carbs below 20 gms for a week. That's net grams, so I get to subtract fiber from the total. Phew! I thought I was going to be missing out on my favorite fibrous veggies. The author insists on having a serving of broccoli a day. So today, I'm taking mine in the form of cream of rapini soup for lunch. Yum!

I got referred to Miracle Noodles the other day, so I ordered some. I'll let you know how they taste.

    Have a great day!
  • 10% I made it! I lost 4.8 lbs over the last 2 weeks and am down from 333 to 300! It's a BIG push for me to stay OP and keep on with my eating changes. (Of course, I thought of asking my leader at WW to wait while I took off my socks. I'd have loved just one more 10th of a pound but I'll have to wait for next week.)

GEORGIA: The worst is over and rebuilding your life can be a whole new project. Should keep you busy. I wish I could do low carb but I just can't give them almost up. At least not yet.

MRSEMERY03: We're a fun group when we're not being quiet. Jump right in!

Hey ladies Come on out and play!
  • Oh Judy! I am so happy for you! You sooooooooo deserve this!
  • Goodness! This week has been grueling! I did get all the grading done for tomorrow that I need to, at least. TGIF for sure.
  • JUDY, CONGRATS ON THE 10%!

GEORGIA, I'm with you on low-carb = clearer thinking and more energy! I'm just so addicted that it's hard to get clear of the sugar.

    Having a good day...
