Default Calorie counting works!!!!

Whodathunk it?

2 weeks, 9.2 lbs down (at 260.8 today, so not quite 10 lbs like my ticker says).

I've tried everything else under the sun and here we are with the most simple of simple techniques and it's working. I have cut out most processed stuff and most "white" stuff, but for the most part I'm just eating healthy and less. And it's working

That's great! I've also been closely counting calories over the last 2 weeks (previously I would estimate but clearly I was way off) and I've lost almost 5 lbs in the past 2 weeks. It's amazing what a difference it makes! Congratulations!

thank you for your post. I've been low carbing with no success, in fact I've gained 8 pounds!! I'm counting calories for good now. No more messing around. I need to lose about 40 more pounds just for health reasons and I'm tired of getting nowhere.

HUGE Congratulations on your success!!!

I agree totally! I have been counting my calories, keeping them between 12-1300 a day, and also have been counting my fat grams 30-35 a day. I have lost 20 pounds in four weeks. the first week, I lost 7 pounds! Last week I platued, so I upped it to 1500 for this week, and have already lost 2 more pounds - woo!

So I agree calorie counting is the way to go! And I can pretty much eat whatever I want, as long as I stay within my limits Another thing that would help to, I found, is vitamin and supplements. I take Chromium Picolonate (sp?) and I have found that it really does work in helping your metabolism

Thanks everyone! It's so great seeing everyone else's success and being able to add a bit of my own. I hope to be a big loser like so many of you have been!

Congratulations!!!

A lot of folks on 3fc have had success calorie counting (including me!). Please don't get discouraged if the weight loss slows over time -- that's natural -- just keep at it and the pounds *will* come off!

I have just started calorie counting, and have lost 10 lbs in 4 days. I only eat 1200 calories per day, and weigh 265 lbs. I know most of it is water. But it isn't just calorie counting. I go to Aquafit 6 days per week for 1-2 hours, then do 30 minutes of cardio. I burn approx 1000 calories/day.
It is hard, but I like it.

Great job! Calorie counting is not only good for being healthy I love that it really teaches you portion sizes for times when you don't have the info on you. Thanks to weighing most of my food I am getting really good at eyeballing food the rest of the time.
