I put mine in a delicates bag, run on the delicate cycle in the wash in Woolite and hang to dry. I have been doing this for almost a year with them and haven't had any trouble yet. Only had one that stretched, but read other people on line with that specific brand having trouble with handwashing, so I think it is the brand not the handling in that case. Most of mine are Champion and are holding up really well.

I machine wash (delicate) mine, and hang to dry.
No problems thusfar.

I think it's the heat in the dryer that's heck on elastic.

Yes ma'am, it is the heat that destroys those bad boys. Also, avoid chlorine bleach.

I place mine in a delicates bag and place in with the cold water cycle then hang up to dry. It' s just detergent and cold water which is fine. It's the hot heat of the dryer you have to worry about. I always hang my jeans to dry as well.
