Things to do in New Hampshire!!!

  • Hi guys,

I'm going on holiday for 3weeks in NH at the end of sept. (I'm really excited I love the US). Does anyone have any good suggestions of whats interesting to do over there?

  • NH has tax free shopping if you're going to be around a mall or any stores really. The White Mountains are really pretty and have a lot of different things to see and do there. There are a couple outlet malls, Hampton Beach, Laconia, etc.

NH is also very close to Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine depending on where exactly in NH you will be....Canada too, if you're up north. So, side trips to those places could be fun!
  • Thanks for the advice I will start looking into it! xx
  • Go to Boston if you're in Southern NH.

Kancamagus Highway area is beautiful for sightseeing, hiking, etc.
Lake Winnepesaukee/Weirs Beach area in the lakes region.

The foliage should be nearing peak in Northern NH by the end of September.

Do you have children? Santa's Village is so fun.

Lots of opportunities for shopping in southern NH (Rockingham Mall (Salem), Pheasant Lane mall (Nashua)) and outlet shopping (Laconia). NH is tax-free, so buy some clothes.

I live 10 minutes from the southern NH border. Have fun!
  • Same here Rachel!!!! I loved Santa's Village when we were little. We went there, Storyland, and Six Gun City a lot for summer vacations. The gingerbread house at Santa's Village where you can frost your own gingerbread was always my favorite place when i was little! haha
  • We think StoryLand stinks! But Santa's Village rocks...

    *gasp* we love storyland lol

There's lots of amusement parks around NH that's what we do when we go. In VT though there isn't anything to do unless you want to look at leaves or eat some ice cream and maple syrup lol. The Ben and Jerry's tour though is fun the first time through. Also the tour at the VT Teddy Bear Factory.
  • Six Gun City was the worst....we went on a big family vacation with a couple other families because we were outnumbered by the boys. So boring and my friend, Keri, and I managed to get stuck in the middle of the water in the canoe ride. We were like 9 years old and our fathers were laughing too hard at us to help. Traumatic LOL
  • Well, What part of NH are you going to be in?

Here are a few I can think of off the top of my head.
    1. Visit the White Mountains
    2. Ride the Conway Scenic Railroad
    3. The kangamangus Highway is beautiful this time of year
    4. There are mansions and historical houses in many towns across NH
    5. See if there is a fair going n in the area you will be in
    6. Quincy Market in Mass is interesting as is the Boston Museum of Science

There are lots of things to do but it is hard to say because I am not sure what part you will be in.
  • I'm staying around the Merrimack area. My dad has just moved there a couple of months ago and we were looking to see what NH can offer.

I do really like the sound of santa village!
