    random rant
  • You may not FEEL better mentally, because your head hasn't caught up with your body yet! You LOOK fabulous (I bet!)
  • You should feel better! I bet you look amazing!
I don't even go out anymore because I'm too self conscious! I stick to pubs now if I go out, so I can hang out in a dark corner.
But I know how you feel about 'being the biggest girl' there. I feel like that wherever I am whenever I'm with my friends.
If you like to dance and have a good time, and you have enough confidence to do it, then go have fun! Besides, all that dancing is probably burning tons of calories.
  • It's totally worth it! 41 pounds is a HUGE accomplishment and you should feel amazing about yourself for that!!!

**Hugs** Look how great you felt about your outfit and just having a great time with your girlfriends!

You're doing wonderful and shouldn't give up!!
  • 41 pounds is heaps of progress, you probably look way different now than you did before. Even if you are still bigger than your friends, thats not really what this journey is about- its about you I know its hard to lose weight, and then not see a difference, sometimes its just that we are so involved in the process that we become our own worse critics and cant see our progress. You are around 38% towards your goal, thats huge!
  • Of COURSE it's worth it! Because if you quit now, you'll always be the fattest girl in the club. But if you keep at it, head held high and sticking to your plan, it won't be long til you're the hottest girl in the club.
  • This happened to me on Saturday night, but I am slimming with a friend off mine Charlete, she is 50 pounds heavier than me,

we were outr having an amazing time but the dance floor is packed with mirrors, I was REALLY nervous as there was so many pretty tiny girls but Char was there smiling and just so so pretty.

She took me aside and told me that the reason she looked so good was because she was proud off herself as she has lost 14 pounds and that I needed to be proud as I was lsoing weight...I relaxed and enjoyed myself more

What you feel inside will show on the outside..
  • Don't give up! I know exactly how you feel. I have been struggling with the same five pounds for months, and I am starting to get frustrated. But I have been fighting this for two years and I am not giving up. I have lots of days where I think I don't look any different. Compare pics from then and now. You'll see it.
  • When that happens to me (and I don't have any friends who aren't half my size) I just tell myself that I am the hottest girl there anyway. If you believe it, it will be true.

Also, OT - I see you are in Brighton Beach - I grew up in Bensonhurst/Midwood
  • I HATE going to the clubs. I don't think I have ever been hit on once. A friend told me it's because of my attitude. I guess I scare people away ha ha. She said when she comes home for Christmas break, she will take me out clubbing since "I'm working on my attitude/presentation". One of my improving-self goals.

When/if I move to Vancouver next summer... I plan to be this HOT STUFF strutting it around! It'll be a year from now so hopefully I've made it to my weight loss goal and have an insane amount of confidence. The guys won't know what's coming!
  • I completely understand you! Because while you know all the hard work you have done so far, the rest of the world/people in the club do not. I do the same exact thing- I take a while to get ready and get everything perfect, try on a ton of outfits and ask my mom's opinion (she will tell me the cold, hard truth) get my hair and makeup just right, and get a little bit of liquid courage in me and I'm ready to go! Then I step into a bar or club, and all that effort goes down the drain. And on top of all that, add being single for the past 4 or 5 years...... ugh!
  • CHUNKY MONKEY 41lbs sounds little to you but to me I would reach my goal weight with that loss so that is huge. You have made good progress, don't let anything put you down, even a photo...

Stick it up in your room with the title Work In Progress

Just keep on looking hot with your 217lbs, before you know it you wil be a hot 150lb...
  • CONGRATS on losing 40lbs!! Just stay focused and positive. Remember how much you have accomplished thus far - truly inspiring!
  • omg i totally feel so much better... you guys are the best !

nooch i went to midwood high school ! i graduated 05 ! why oh why have you moved lolz!!!??? we could have been excersize buddies =P

lucysinatra lolz @ liquid courage ... sounds like we have the same rituals for getting ready ...

ughhhhh one day ... evreything will fall into place i feel much much better though ... i think i may even post some progress pics ... i dont have any great before pics though ...
  • I went there too! Class of 03 though, and then I went to Stony Brook! When I was in high school I used to work out at Lucille Roberts on Kings Highway and East 9th

As far as pics go, post whatever you have - maybe it will be easier for you to see your progress when we see it too!
