Default Question.....

Im a full time mum and am sort of fitting in exercise anytime i can. but its not solid, (like an hour workout) it might be 5 mins, a couple of hours later half an hour, an hour later another 10mins etc. am i gong to get any real benefit from this or do i need to set aside time for a real solid workout? i usually do weights or planks.
thanks

Any exercise is better than doing no exercise, to me it all adds up through the day.

I break mine up into 30 minutes sessions 2-3 times 5-6 days a week. I am no expert but I think doing something is better than doing nothing and it should benefit you.

Also, do you do any cardio as well?

Good luck with your goals.

I agree, any working out is better than nothing.
Do what you can, when you can do it.

I like to do pushups against the kitchen counter and squats while I'm preparing meals.
Do calf raises while you do your hair or brush your teeth in the morning.
While your watching tv, jump up during commercials and do an exercise for the amount of time that the commercial is on (pushups, squats, lunges, jumping jacks).

Also, if you're short on time, they say that jumping rope burns alot of calories.

Best wishes and get movin'

I'd try to fit in some exercise time if you can but like the others said raising your HR even for just 5 minutes a few times a day is better then doing nothing so try and squeeze in whatever you can. I lose weight twice as fast if I exercise regularly and keep on track with my eating plan.

I'm not an expert either, but I have 3 doctors in my family!

They tell me that for fat burning, you need to get your heart rate up for an extended period of time, like 20 mins or so. Short bursts of exercise I think would be good for building up the heart and endurance so you can exercise longer.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
