Default Resources

Hello

I was wondering what resources everyone used to start calorie counting. Did any of you read books, if so which ones? Did you just go to websites like TDP or fit day? What ever tools or resources you please share.

Thanks

Fitday is great.

I'm currently using Sparkpeople.com and I think it is a very helpful site.

You will get better at counting calories with time.

Learn to use your tools. If you're just starting out, learn to measure with measuring spoons and cups. Buy a scale, measuring in grams is wonderful.

Don't expect perfection from the start, but it will get better.

My motto is, the more accurate I am as often as I can be, then I can relax a bit when I can't be as accurate, i.e. the occasional meal out.

And learn how many calories your body needs.

I do suggest Sparkpeople, seriously.

I use my Ipod Touch App, Lose It! If I didn't have that, i'd get myself a pocket sized calorie count book, a small journal & pretty pen and keep track the "old fashioned" way...

I feel comfortable with a book that I carry around that counts calories for me. They have many different kinds at the bookstore.

Default Resources

Thanks for the replies.

I do use some of the suggestions. I don't have a ipod touch, but I have a sidekick and use there app. Its called calorie cruncher3 and is which I linked with fitness factor. The two together keep track of exercise and calories. I also have a CC book. I sometime still write in a notebook.

However these are all tools used to actually count. I was more looking for resources that talk about or explain calorie counting. I guess just reading over the boards will educate me.
