How many grams of protein?

  • Do you try to get each day?

I've been trying to eat more protein since starting the 30 day shred and I think it's helping with the soreness, but I wasn't sure if weight loss would change the amount of protein I should have...
  • If you eat more lean protein it fuels your muscles and boosts your metabolism. If you cut out the bad carbs from bread and sugar and just stick to the good carbs in fruit and veggies, then you will see bigger weight loss. On the plan I'm on now I have 6 servings of lean protein a day. 2 oz at breakfast, 3 oz at lunch, 4 oz at dinner, and 2-3 1 oz snacks a day. Seems to be working so far, when I stick to it ofcourse.
  • Im not entirely sure that carbs from bread and sugar are necessarily bad- white bread carbs are prob not the best, but whole grain bread is pretty good for you, and remember that fruit contains sugar too

Protein helps keep you full too, which is really handy in weight loss Im not sure exactly how much you want, but you might want to try and have some protein in every meal, and if you find yourself getting hungry try to have a snack that has some protein in it too to keep you going
  • Oh my gosh - red lentils have 13 grams of protein and 9 grams of fiber, no fat, and 180 calories. They taste like butter. I love them!!!!!
