Hey I don't have much experience but it sounds like our goals are quite similar..
I want to drop ATLEAST 10.. prefferably 15-20 and I'd love to have it done in 2 months.. I'm reaching for one month at a time though.. Started YESTERDAY 4/15/09 - by 5/15/09 I want 10 gone.. and I think that is reasonable?

Here is what I'm doing....
getting up earlier.
ONE boiled egg for a true bfast before leaving my house (I never eat until 10am ususally)
mid morning snack - special k ceral bar or yogurt
Lunch - going to the gym or park to walk/run for 30min or how ever long I can (I get an hour) -- I am then getting a meal replacement shake the "healthy shake" or lite whey protein shake -
Mid afternoon snack - applesauce, yogurt something light
DINNER BEFORE 8PM which is hard for me... and I plan to eat smaller portions.. VERY SLOWLY.
Then NOTHING out after 8pm in the evening (thus cutting out an ice-cream or cereal snack that had been my regular.)

I plan to work out in the evenings by lifting weights, cardio and taking pilates.

The weekends are hard for me to control so I will do what I can when I can, and just really watch what I consume
I'm also making an effort to drink wine or light mixed drinks instead of my favorite.. beer..
All in the spirit of weightloss and feeling comfy in my skin!

I KNOW WE CAN DO IT!
Best of luck! Let me know what you think about my plan..

well i lost almost 100 pounds 11 years ago.... and it came off rather fast, i just walked/jogged 2 miles a day, watched what i ate and i did take a doctor prescribed diet pill called tenuate dospan 75mg..... kept the weight off for almost 8 years than the last 3 was put on a medicine that caused me to gain 60lbs back so starting over, so far 5 pounds in 10 days.... so u CAN do it, good luck

Hi Sortosky, welcome! I have lost 25 lbs in 2-3 months before, and that's when I weighed a whole lot less than I do now, but once I got it off, I didn't maintain it, which is why I am here! (Make sure you don't ignore the maintenance part!) I did it then by counting calories at first and once I had a pretty good understanding of the calories in the foods I ate, I started just tracking rather than exact counting the calories. Also, I gave up Diet Dr. Pepper and started drinking water, lots of it. And like Savora, I walked at least 2 miles a day. I also took vitamins, especially B complex. And I made sure the types of foods I ate were healthy, like whole grain bread instead of white bread; fish and chicken over red meat, etc. Also, never skip a meal, have healthy snacks between meals, and never eat under 1200 calories. You don't want to slow your metabolism down. All that is what I am doing again this time and since March 12th, I've lost 15 lbs, so it's working! Good luck!
