If you are going to...

  • binge, binge for breakfast. I binged this morning, cosuming about 900 calories. I felt really bad in doing so, but I still have the rest of the day to make up for it. So, I will probably eat a very very light lunch and dinner and get some exercise and ill be all good.
  • You are so right, great idea. Plus, breakfast food is the best food ever.
  • I read an email once that said you should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a beggar!
  • I think I'll skip the binging

How did the rest of your day go?

Well, I'm not so sure if I'd actually go and PLAN a binge. Back in my morbidly obese days, I actually DID plan for binges. I would actually go to the store and "stock up" for them. So, no planning a binge it definitely out of the question.

BUT, that being said, I'm thrilled to hear that you haven't decided "the heck with the whole day now, I've already eaten xyz, I might as well eat everything else in sight", because back in the day that's EXACTLY what I would have done. But no, it's right back on plan - pronto. When you do go off plan (& of course it's going to happen) the best strategy is to get immediately back on track with the very next food choice - no waiting around for tomorrow. The whole day is not "shot". Minimize the damage done. If only I'd had done that my entire life, well, I probably wouldn't be on this site right now. So yes, I think it's a big victory to get back to healthy eating and your plan with lunch and dinner and exericse. Good save.

Just one more thing I thought of. Did you figure out and at least learn why this binge occured? Were you not prepared? Did you not plan for a healthy meal? There is no reason whatsoever to beat yourself up. What's done is done and over with. Learn from your experiences and use that information to avoid mis-steps in the future.
  • This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes I've seen on here. Not sure I've got it exactly but something like, "Just because you trip, you don't throw yourself down the whole flight of stairs."

Best of luck with good choices the rest of the day!
