Default Hello from New Hampshire

Hello

I am a 35 year old mother of 3 boys and I work full time. I am very busy. Yet I still find time to stuff myself with junk food. I was just recently diagnosed with pre-diabetes. It was a wake up call. I am now trying to lose weight because I have to. Not just because I want to look good (of course that helps). I am looking for any advice on low carb eating. I have done the SB and Atkins. I had a hard time sticking with it. Recently I have decided to cut down on the amount of carbs I eat. It has worked so far. (I stopped eating alot of chips and cakes). I do cheat here and there and eat All Bran crackers (better than Dorritos). I am also eating more veggies instead of noodles or rice with dinner.

Very excited to meet you all

Hello from a fellow New Hampshire-ite

I have always been, and probably always will be a huge fan of Weight Watchers! I love it because it teaches you how to make the right choices, limit your portion sizes, and you can still eat that candy bar and not feel horrible! WW is a lifestyle change and it's something you can take with you no matter where you go and you don't have to stop eating your favorite foods.

I'm not sure if you have a preference to which 'diet' you will try, or if you are leaning towards others because they're better for you being pre-diabetic.

No matter what you decide to do, you're already on the right track you've already lost 27lbs *YAY YOU* and you have the right mindset of you're doing it for your health and your children, even though a new body is a major bonus

Good luck and welcome!

Hey Ms. Fluffernutter!

You may want to check out our "Dieting with Obstacles" area or the "Dieting with Diabetes" area - both are good spots for getting tips on reducing carb intake. We also have a "Low Carb Lifestyle" forum that might interest you.

There are also groups by age range and a lot of miscellaneous challenges and groups - look around!

Can't wait to get to know you better!
