Okay so this is petty and I'm venting, but I am pissed off!
I left my lunch on the counter today which sucks because we are broke till payday
I've got about $5 to get lunch...no prob Subway has been advertising the new $2.25 Value meal hooray!
So I'm going to get a 6" Turkey sub on 9-grain and I ask the counter girl if I can get milk and apples instead of chips and soda....
"sure that'll be $7.53"
"Okay I want the VALUE meal, if I can't subsitute for a healthier option that's fine. I'll just get the regular meal."
" Okay...$4.33 "
"And what size drink do I get with that?"
"Oh I thought you didn't want the meal"
So I left with only a 6" sub that I paid full price for...Grrrrrrr
That's frustrating. Keeping on budget can be as hard as keeping your calories under control.
And while we're griping about subway, I was getting a veggie sub 2 weeks ago and I said I wanted just a *little* of the Italian dressing and she proceeded to smother it in it. I almost asked for a new sub, but the line was really long. So then the italian dressing was like dripping from the bottom. I've never been so angry while eating before haha.
I'm glad they are at least offering that now (although it would be better if you could actually get it!) Last time I went I requested a footlong minus the bread because the FL is only $5 and the salad is over $6 for half the meat. -the guy kept asking me what kind of bread and I told him I didn't really care since I was going to throw it out- then he said "So you want a salad?" I said,"Well, yes. But I'd rather get charged for the footlong and have the extra meat for less money so however you want to do that is fine with me." :P
One time they had this huge line at subway- and they were making the orders so quickly- and just piling them on each other in "supposed" order.
Well when it got to my sandwich and my sisters we opened ours up before we left and they were TOTALLY not our sandwiches!
I walked right up to the counter and was like "these are NOT my sandwiches that I asked for" and they remade them right there- needless to say everyone else started opening up their sandwhiches to make sure they were the right ones!
It's like sure try to be efficient but how can you get things OUT of order! I was sitting at subway for half an hour because of that...
The Subway in our college town has some pretty cool people that work at it. They're always making conversation and interacting with the customers. But the QUIZNO'S down the road...man now THAT'S a different story!! I hate going there just because of the employees.

You have to give the employees credit, though. It gets ridiculously busy there, and I've seen them get chewed out for the stupidest things by picky customers who want THIS, not THAT, you put it ON wrong, bla bla bla. If I worked there I'd get fed up pretty fast. One of my roommates DID work there for a while, and I heard some fantastic horror stories from HER side of the counter. And by the sound of it, the person they involved was probably telling everyone in the world how Subway employs idiots.
I mean, come on, if we're that picky about our food, we could just make our own stupid sandwiches.
Of course, I worked at wal-mart, so I have huge sentiments for employees with bad reputations. lol!
$2.25 value meal??? Since when? I looked online and didn't really see a whole lot about it. How would they make money off of that?
Yeah it's a new thing they started. In response to the current Economic climate they have discontinued the point card program and are now offering a value meal consisting of a 6" sub, soda, and bag of chips.
I have been on THAT side of the counter as well and have dealt with frustrating customers. What I can say is that I knew what I was doing and I listened to what people were asking, if I made a mistake I did my best to correct it
Not that it's personally her fault, but when I hand over my money I expect to get what I'm asking for.
I don't think you were out of line at all. If they're going to lure you into the store with a special or sale, they should honour it and be informed about it.
The people that work at the Subway in my town are really, really rude every time you go in there. Even if you are the only person there. Its really annoying!
It's funny to me that people at Subway are so stingy with their veggies! When I ask for extra, they look at me like I'm crazy.... In my mind I'm thinking I need all the veggies I can get!
I would have said something about the $2.50 special, and told them that's what I want. I don't care if people are waiting, it's my money and my meal. Good thing is that they make it front of you and can't do anything crazy to your food.
Man.. Since we're borderline telling stories about crappy jobs and crappy experiences at other peoples jobs, I thought i would throw this in the mix. One time when I was 16, working at tim hortons (biggest coffee chain in canada) This woman comes up with her son on a saturday in a mall (very very busy) and she's like, can i get 10 plain timbits? her son was like "MOMMY I WANT CHOCOLATE" and shes like "No, you're not having chocolate". I give her the timbits. Not even 2 minutes later she comes BARGING up the counter again, THROWS the timbits in my face(literally IN MY FACE. I had a glaze mask) and tells me she asked for chocolate.... I politely told her I heard her tell her son that he couldnt have chocolate but I gave her ten chocolate anyways. All the other customers in line that heard her say that to her son and then seen that happened, were all giggling. I hope she felt mighty stupid.
