Default Chocolate Slim Fast

I'm on Phase 3 (totally maintaining ) now so I'm free to do my thing. Well, I have an addiction to any chocolate Slim Fast drink. I drink it for snacks and not meal replacements or when I feel the need for "chocolate milk". I've tried the sugar-free fudgesicles and they are good, but I crave it in liquid form. The scale isn't tripping off my Slim Fast addiction, but it's an odd one, right?

I dont do south beach but I had to chime in when I saw this.
Last month I decided to the slim fast plan. Well I ended up craving the sugar in the slim fast. And I was halfway following my friends pre surgery plan and on that you got more slimfast than a normal plan and so I was downing these 220 calorie drinks like they were nothing. And Id get up craving them. It took me a while to realize it was the sugar. Im a major sugar addict and they were not a good choice for me. I know they make other types without the sugar but I didnt like the taste of those and wouldnt drink them. Anyway I know what its like to crave slimfast LOL

Check out the ingredients and make your decision. Maybe you can make a more SBD appropriate shake.

Sass- have you ever tried the low calorie/fat blizzard made with pudding mix? OK, SO, its not sbd friendly but for an occasional treat I have had them in the past when I was doing ww... I bet you could use chocolate pudding and get similar results if you didn't add as much ice.... and YUMMY...

Yield 1 serving = 3 pts*
Satisfies 1 milk serving

1/2 oz sugar free, fat free any flavor Jello Brand Instant Pudding Mix (The blizzrd is 4 pts if you use a store brand. I don't know why)
1 cup skim milk
1 cup ice

In a blender mix the pudding mix powder and the milk. After it is completely blended add the 1 cup of ice. Blend until ice is thoroughly incorporated. Enjoy one HUGE tasty treat!

* - Add the points accordingly if you add additional ingredients such as crushed candy bars, nuts or cereal to your blizzard.

Rikki - FYI....your drink is SBD friendly (as long as you keep the extras out) for phase 2.

First, congrats on being on phase 3 and maintaining!
Phase 3 is often where people get derailed and end up regaining. The relaxed routine allows you to eat more of those "off limits" foods and as you've noticed, the cravings return. Giving into the cravings will send you back to the starting line. Slimfast is high in added sugar and that's why you are craving it, you are having sugar cravings.
Consuming added sugar, be it in the form of slim fast or a candy bar, can result in the same damage. If you drink it when you feel the need for "chocolate milk", why not have a glass of low fat milk and some no sugar added nesquick? It tastes virtually the same, without all the added sugar and other chemicals found in slim fast.
I did south beach and lost 37 pounds and maintained my goal for over 3 years. I slowly "allowed" myself a bite of this here and there until I was completely off plan, completely out of control and here I am, back at phase 1 after regaining 40 pounds.

That is why I'm facing my demons now. I don't want to return back to P1...that would be TORCHER. I don't ever want to see it again. As long as the sugar-free Quik tastes like chocolate milk then I'll try it. I'll give it ago and I'll try not to buy Slim Fast anymore. That is the only thing that I'm eating that SBD non-friendly. They also have a protein Slim Fast I wanted to try but I'll give it a rest now. I've drank 3 cases of Slim Fast already...one a day for three weeks.

Thanks!!!

i definately love the taste of slim fast, and if i bought it i would probably drink the whole case in a day, like a box of cookies in an hour. i used to buy it in high school for lunches and snacks, but realized i was wasting my money cause i was 'abusing' it. now i see that it was the sugar an alternative to the pudding milkshake thing is to pick up a chocolate flavored protein powder (nsa of course) to use in milkshakes. i know when i was pregnant there was one i liked (think it was store brand) that i would blend a banana, soymilk, and the powder together with ice and a little sugar and it was awesome. read some labels, see what you can find, and then let me know, cause i want some too!! lol

I love the unsweetened chocolate almond milk heated and sweetened with a little agave and a sprinkle of cinnamon. A dash of coffee doesn't hurt either
