I downloaded the 7 day free trial of CalorieKing's "Nutrition & Exercise Manager" and I really like it, much better then Daily Plate and the other free food diaries out there. I am just trying to decide if I should just get the download or buy the CD.
I thought that these are just the same product, just different types of media, but when I go to the details page for each of the products, it says different things...the most important differences being that the CD page says that you can "Send your entries direct to the CalorieKing.com website" (I am assuming without the additional CalorieKing.com membership?) and the download says that there are "Automatic food database updates". It would be nice if I could track my calories on 2 computers (ie. work and home) and have the the food database updated when necessary. I am also worried that, if something happened to my computer and I had to re-install everything, I would not be able to re-install the software if I buy just the download.
If anyone has any information on the CalorieKing download or CD and can share it with me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I can answer a few of your questions. I did post your question over at calorieking.com. I have the download and it does update automatically. IF you have a membership over at calorieking it will sync with the online version ( it is not necessary though). If anything happened to your computer you could also email calorie king to get a new installation file ( I had to do that). You said you would like to have it on two different computers, if you did that they would not be syned so you would have to retyped everything back in. I don't use the online version I use the download and the palm version.
If you wanted to put it on more than one computer than I would go with the cd.
Once your question is answered on CK I will write back.
Thanks Bev, I appreciate your feedback and help!

Ok, the answer I received over at Calorieking is that they are the same software and program. It really comes down to if you have the cd and your computer crashes you have the cd to install onto your computer immediately also it is good if you are going to install onto more than one computer. If you decide on the download option you will be able to contact calorieking if your computer crashes so you can redownload it ( I had to do that).
If you are just using it on one computer I would say get the download since it is cheaper unless you really want the cd. I have had it on my computer for a year and I have not had any problems with it.
I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions please just ask.
Bev
That was exactly the information I was looking for, thanks!!
