Default loss of appetite?

Hi all! I'm new to the community and new to SBD, and I am really looking forward to losing weight along with everyone!

I am on day three of phase one, and I seem to have totally lost my appetite since starting the diet. I'm barely hungry at meal times, and have to force down morning and afternoon snacks (I always eat them, since I am afraid of binging later if I don't). What's so odd about this is that I typically have a huge appetite, and tend to be an all-day nosher. Is it possible my portions are too big, or could this just be my body detoxing itself of sugar? I've aso cut out diet soda (but not coffee), which I usually drink in abundance, so I am wondering if this is having an impact.

Thanks!

to The Beach, swandive!

It's not uncommon to experience a lack of appetite on Phase 1. It's most likely due to your body adjusting itself to lack of sugars and starchy foods. It's important to keep on eating your 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, though, to get the nutrients you need and keep your metabolism and energy level up. You're appetite will return before too long, but not your cravings! Good luck!

I'm sure I'll have a million more questions in the coming days... looking forward to getting to know everybody

i'm only on day 7 and the same thing happened to me, whats even weirdo is i normally drink pop (mountain dew) all day long and haven't even missed that. The only times i'm hungry now is in the morning sometimes and if i go far to long in between meals like i did yesterday

Amazing phenonmenon no? I get it all the time. It fades. Make sure to at least eat some veggies and nibble on some cheese (and drink some water!)!!!

Happened to me on Day 3 of Phase I only I was almost nauseous in the morning. I did feel better after eating a little. Thankfully that quickly passed.

i'm on day 3, too and i am also losing my appetite. today at lunch i warmed up my soup and sat down to eat it. that was when i realized i had forgotten a spoon. had i been alone, i would have drunk it out of the bowl, but i had a student making up a test. no lunch for me! when i came home and ate dinner i was barely hungry. before i would have eaten everything in sight for skipping lunch!
