Smile New from Tampa, FL

Hello All
I am so glad I found this group. I am from Tampa, FL and am trying to decide what plan I am going to follow. I am focusing on drinking 8+ glasses of water and getting some exercise while I research the plan for me.

I have tried the no carb plan and discovered you gain it back once you eat real food LOL. Plus it is too restricitive. I think I am going to look into and compare flat belly, the new WW (which seems to be a combo of flex and core...Flexi-core), and South Beach.

Has anyone added supplements that help in this process? I am a marketing sucker who looksinto all of those diets in magazines and products that are on the shelflike Hydroxycut and Acai (SP-recommended by Oprah). I probably need to find a 12 step program to aid in this addiction

I have four kids ranging from 6-18 and need to lose to keep up with them.

Hi, I am a neighbor, in good ol' St. Pete. I am a newbie as well, and am over joyed that I have found this group. I have done every diet under the sun, and could probably write my own book! LOL
I have decided today on South Beach, we will see how that goes! But I do know from experience, that you should add a multi vitamin, as well as 500mg of Calcium. I, like you have tried a million supplements, Hydroxycut, etc. etc., but just from a personal thought, making a "life style change" should be something you learn to do without supplements. Kind of like, making a change with your own mind and body, not pills from a bottle! (gosh, I really have done to much dieting! LOL)
I have four children as well, 24 - 12 and two grand daughters, 5 and 7. I need to lose just like you to keep up with them!!!!
I guess we need to be strong, eat right, and add the word exercise to our vocbulary!!!! I wish you the best!!!!

Default Oh! Me too!

Hey.. I'm in Clearwater, and I'm new, too!

I hate the idea of "dieting," and have tried to instead make a "life change." I dont' know. I've lost 40lbs since May 2008 with this "life change," so it seems to be working for me. I'm too addicted to bread to do a low carb thing... I'd go crazy. Instead, I just eat everything in moderation. It seems to be going alright... though I go to bed hungry more often than not.

Now my boyfriend wants me to help him lose weight, too... but he can't stand being hungry. I have no idea how to help him if he won't stop with PB&J sandwiches before bed. Hmmph.

If anyone has any ideas... I'm open to them. Hahah.

Anyway.. I'm glad to be here... hopefully it'll help.

Thanks for making me feel welcome.
I have kept up with drinking the water for the past few days and trying to stay away from junk. good thing the "entertaining" season is slowing down!! It's also great that school starts on Tuesday!
Please let me know how you are progressing and what helpful hints you would like to share
