Red face Biggest Loser...at work..new here.

We are doing a biggest loser program at work. We already did it once and I lost 20 lbs. I gained about 5 of it back and then we started it again. My partner this time around is on WW and has already lost 60 pounds! I cannot afford WW financially or time wise...so I do my own program of ...counting calories.
I have been reading the site for a few weeks and thought to join and see where it goes. I track my weight and food on dailyplate.com but...its so easy to cheat. I just ate three pieces of pizza...2 then I was bored and felt guilty so I ate one more. DUH! It was just veggie pizza but still....
I have to succeed at this. I have approx. 25 pounds to lose.
I am going to try and give up diet pop for the New Year. I basically have my tea for breakfast, got to work and have a piece of fruit. Lunch I have a frozen low-fat calorie counted dinner and then for dinner I skip or have a bag of microwave popcorn. --Depending on my day I may come home and have three cookies or some chips. I know its not right but it worked last time. Calories in -- calories out.
I also do the elliptical 30-60 minutes a day. What say you??? Any ideas, tips, help?
Thanks!

Default More success and longer lasting results....

If you don't skip meals. For weight loss that you can live with forever (maintenance) you have to have a style of eating that isn't like a diet. Skipping breakfast and dinner is dieting! The rest of what you are doing doesn't sound too unhealthy or hard to live with long term. If you lose the weight quick by dieting, you will only gain it back when begin eating "normally" again. It is a viscious cycle, then you have to diet again and again and again.

Find out how many calories you can eat and still lose weight without cutting your calories too low. Eat as much as you can of healthy foods with lots of variety.

Default Biggest loser...I wish

Thanks Michelle. I am seriously trying to eat three meals at least. I did do breakfast for awhile ( low sugar oatmeal) but it added to my total day calorie count and so I stopped it.
I'm not that good with math but I read or heard somewhere that I should not eat more than 10% of my weight. If I weigh in at 181 than to lose weight I need to eat less than 1800 calories.
I am just so tempted lately. Last time I lost because I knew a stranger would weigh me in weekly and I did not want to gain.

Good to meet you Heathersmom,
A year and a half ago, we did Dump your Plump at work and I lost 25 lbs. Then gained back 40. I think we hold ourselves more accountable when we know someone else is going to be weighing us each week. There are so many great recipes here that you wouldn't know was "diet". ww online has great recipes too and you don't have to join to get access to them. I think I read somewhere that if you don't get enough calories a day then your body thinks it is starving and holds onto every one that it gets and makes it difficult to lose weight. I think a biggest loser challenge sounds fun. Good luck!
