Question Energy and quick!

I'm so worn out this week!

I am working my normal 40 hour job and putting on a training conference, which I'm donating my time doing this. So I tallied up my hours and when the conference is done tomorrow it will be a total of 60 hours I put in, not including my regular job of 40 hrs!

That's a lot of hours.... my weeks are not like this all time time, but I'm so tired! Is there anything special I can eat that would healthily give me energy? I'm taking really good vitamins to help with that. I haven't been eating as much as normal b/c I've been busy and not hungry, but I've only worked out 3 times this week too.

I am so open to suggestions!!!!

Plenty of water is important - dehydration always makes me feel worn out.

You can also try coffee, but be moderate - if I drink TOO much in an attempt to stay awake, I actually get more exhausted-feeling.

Whole grain carbs work well for me - a nice, steady release of energy into the bloodstream.

Green tea? Almonds?

Webmd has some good suggestions: http://www.webmd.com/diet/fight-fati...-6/default.htm

Blueberries! And green grapes for some reason. But blueberries really are a good energy food. I love to drink Odwalla when I'm in a slump or having a way busy week- it's just a superfood shake with no sugar. Yum!

The only truly energizing thing I can recommend is watching your sleep hours. But that might be kind of too obvious.

^ I was going to say this, too. I have a really hectic schedule, too, but the only time that it bothers me or feels too tiring/overwhelming is when I haven't gotten enough sleep... Then it's simply unbearable! I guess it might be a bit of an obvious suggestion, heh, but sleep is THE most important thing to have enough energy for the day! Also, as far as snacks, my personal favorite pick-me-up is Naked juice (like Odwalla, but better, hehe! IMO at least). They are sooo yummy, and they even have flavors that are specifically mean to give you energy! My favorite of those is Orange Mango Motion, but they're all amazing.

Okay, and I suppose normal foods can give you energy, too, LOL. I'd recommend fruit or nuts, or something with protein and/or complex carbs, like a slice of whole grain bread with one of the healthier brands of peanut butter (or soynut butter, mm!)... I also love pure fruit leather! Or those 90-calorie Special K cereal/granola bars; the strawberry ones are sooo good.

LOL this thread is really making me crave all of my favorite snacks, now! I hope you find something good to energize you.
