Default tracfone codes?

Anyone here use tracfone? Have you tried using any codes? What's worked?

I just used code 52486 on a 200 min card and received 30 mins.

I have a calendar that gives me different codes every month.I don't use them every month, but I do like that I can get extra minutes now and then.

We have tracfones and use the codes almost any time we re-load minutes. We get codes via e-mail from tracfone and on the tracfone calendar they send out. Be aware, though, you can only use a particular code for one phone, even though they generally don't say they are one-time use.

Also, we had a problem with tracfone putting extra minutes on our phones when we would re-load minutes on their website. We didn't think it was a problem at the time. We thought tracfone was simply rewarding it's customers with extra free bonus minutes, but apparently, sometimes tracfone's own system adds extra minutes "by mistake" and when they discover the error, they will take the minutes away, disable your phone, and not allow you to reactivate your phone. They will also accuse you of somehow adding "unauthorized minutes" to your phone through their website (as if we are all computer hackers who know how to fraudulently do things like that-yeah right). So, you end up having to purchase a new phone and you lose any 'double minutes for life' or 'one-year' cards you had on the old phone.

When that happened on our son's phone, we switched his to T-mobile prepaid and are still waiting for tracfone to disable the rest of our phones (because we've received these "unauthorized minutes" several times on each of our phones).

Just beware that apparently tracfone does not ever give out more free minutes than is stated on the coupon. They don't give extra rewards for using their website and they will not put a disclaimer on their product that free minutes are not always actually yours to use. (I did inform tracfone that we would be telling everyone we saw using a tracfone what they did)

Hope you never have this kind of trouble with yours!

Thanks for the warning. I doi have issues that I had purchased "double for life cards" on both mine and my sons phone but only received the double minutes ONE TIME! I've contacted them, but to no avail.

Perhaps I should switch!

You might try contacting them again, but ask for a supervisor. Those double-for-life cards are spendy and you should be getting your money's worth!

Ronni,

I had a lot of service trouble with TracFone myself. First off, every time I bought minutes I had a problem updating the phone so I always had to call them...and I'm not stupid or anything, I followed what it said but it never worked. Then they shorted me on my expiration date. When I called to complain, they gave me a date further in advance of my expiration, another mistake, albeit one I didn't bother to correct them on! Then the final straw came when I, and I don't know what I was thinking, figured I would upgrade to a new phone. So I called and when I tried to place the order they told me my credit card was no good...mind you, I have excellent credit and I keep on top of that stuff like a hawk..and of course, nobody else seemed to be having problems with my credit cards! So then, I couldn't even buy one from them. I wrote them a scathing e-mail, using the form on their website, detailing everything, which was another disaster because, in its length, I had to separate it into 3 messages so of course that got lost in translation. And on top of it all, the quality of the phone wasn't even that good. In the end, I never used up over 4 hours of units I still had left and I went with a Verizon contract...and I'm not much a Verizon fan (gave up their DSL for RoadRunner and had problems with them when I cancelled a landline) but at least their wireless phone that I have seems to be fine.

Dealing with their customer service is like pounding nails into a brick wall. Of course, I think the latter is easier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trekkie, I punch my codes in on the website, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I've figured out that after the second time that a code doesn't work to close out of the web browser and reopen, try a new one, because after three tries even if you try a good code it will not give you the extra bonus minutes.

they need to do some major overhauling!!!!!

I refuse to go back to verizon at any cost. I had cancelled and they charged me $400, and yes, my contract was UP! So now I've been fighting them on that because they are ruining my credit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IDIOTS.
