Little Miss Muffet....

  • was wise, she sat on a tuffet instead of stepping on a scale! hee hee

    Ahh...I see humor in everything.

Question for those of you who do not step on the scale often. How do you do it?? I weigh myself once a week and pretty much what the scale says dictates my day. I've read many a post that a lot of you refrain from stepping on the scale for a month. Huh??? How do you know you are losing instead of gaining?

Help....the numbers on the scale are driving me batty!

All insight and information is very much welcomed.

I'll sit on my tuffet and await your thoughts.
  • I step on a scale every day, I have no idea how you go a week without weighing.

I'm not complaining though, I enjoy the daily check and it reminds me of what my goals are and what I want to accomplish.
  • I only havnt been on the scales the last 2 weeks cos im at my bf's and he doesnt have any.lol
Oh wait, just remembered i went on the ones at Boots chemist.

Found out in 4 weeks id gained 6lbs

In general when im at home im on the scales every morning.
It really does make you feel positive or negative for the rest of the day and determine how hard im gonna try. I need to work on that also!

  • I weight once a week. Just because I want to see how "GOOD" I'm doing. To answer your question about seeing if you are loosing or gaining, I think in reality, everyone "knows". Don't you? If I stay on my plan I'll loose weight, (or maintain for those who faithfully follow their plan). Unless a person has some funky metabolic syndrome where they gain weight from breathing, they'll lose or at least maintain if they are faithfully sticking to a healthy eating plan.
  • Only write it down once a week
I weigh myself every day, sometimes without thinking, since the scale is there in the bathroom. But I started out on Weight Watchers and although I don't go anymore, I think of Saturday am as my 'weigh in day' and so I write that weight down. Sometimes it's higher, sometimes it's lower than the day before but it only 'counts' on that day. Otherwise I get too obsessed!

    I don't think I could go once a month!
  • I think that since I've started losing weight, I've become more "in tune" with my body. I can feel and see when I'm bloated and when I'm starting to gain. I can feel it in how my clothes fit and how my body looks in the mirror when I'm naked.
  • I do a weigh in every two weeks. It takes time for the body to change so no reason to weigh in more than that ( of course that is just me, people can weigh in any old time they like. I can really judge how I am doing by how my clothes are fitting.
