Default To All Uk 3fc Ladies And Gents

I am going to England for 11 days with my man at the end of this month.

He is from Manchester and we will be going to visit is family. When I asked him about healthy labels in England I got a blank stare in return - ha.

Are there any foods you can suggest that I can keep in the house that wouldn't completely kill my calories?

What foods should I just not eat while I am there?

He has mentioned we will be going out for indian at least once while we are there...any thoughts about healthy entrees?

One thing I remember my friend told me about.. is Fish and Chips. She was in England for 6 years and she said fish and chips there are quite different from fish and chips in the u.s....but they are awesomely good. She had it almost every week and gained so much weight.... Don't know much about Indian food, though... Sowwy..

Indian food is difficult for weight loss or even maintenance. Many sauces are cooked in ghee (clarified butter) so high in fat. Best bet is to have tandoori, which is dry cooked with spices, plain basmati rice and forget the naan bread and poppadoms. Also the UK tradition dictates the high fat food is washed down with copious quantities of larger - give this a miss as well.

As to normal supermarket shopping you will find plenty of lower/reduced fat stuff and most stores will do their own calories controlled ready meals - Marks and Spencer's are particularly good with a wide range of choices.

I am not even going to drink beer. I will, however, drink a "proper" pint of Boddingtons - my favorite beer and then stick to my usual, bacardi and diet coke. I am going to pace myself when drinking and get one drink for every 2-3 glasses of water and/or plain diet coke when we do go out to the pubs.

My fiancee doesn't eat that much and do my goal is stay away from white bread, watch my portions on whole wheat and try to share his dishes when we go out and watch my drinking very closely. I do want to try fish and chips once and he said he would help me eat them so I don't eat the whole plate. Also I want to keep snacks with me and I will pack string cheese and special k 90 calories bars when we are out and about so when it comes to meal time I don't feel so hungry.

Other than that - his mom is on weight watchers so I plan to try and copy what she eats when we go out and at home.

My realistic goal is to "break even" while I am there no gain and no loss. But maybe with all the walking even loose a little.

This is going to be a huge challenge for me but I hope to have a great time and keep my weight where it is at for 10 days.
