  • Haha, I've considered buying the wii fit to the wii.. I think it would be a good start maybe.. I don't know.. I was wondering if anyone else has it, or are thinking of buying it?

for you guys who doesn't know what wii fit is, it's a video game, that includes exersices.. It's not like you can only use the wii fit instead of actual exersicing though.. But yeah.. In this game you can do sit ups, push ups, yoga, etc etc.

I think it would be a good reward for me if I lose a few pounds!
  • I can't wait until WiiFit is released here in Canada! I'll be in line at 6am to get it. LOL

Anyone have any idea when it's being released?
  • I saw it at the store yesterday
  • It's already released here in Sweden I think! :O
  • I have WII in my attic, waiting to be given to my kids. Can wii fit be played on original wii?

There is only 1 Wii, isn't there? Did I miss something?

Wii Fit hasn't been released here in the U.S. yet, either. My concern is that you have to do the moves on a board that comes with the game, and I'm wondering if that board has a weight limit since I am over 300 pounds.
  • ^^, of course there's only one wii..
The wiiFit is, I guess, you can call it an special.. "controller"
I don't know about any weight limit or such though..
  • I'm asking for it for Mother's Day. Now to give the hint to DH and the kids!!!
  • From an interview with the creator:

"Also, because when you’re standing on the Balance Board for some of the activities you don’t quite jump but you squat and exert different amounts of pressure on the Balance Board, the actual physical structure of the board is able to withstand much greater weights of around probably 660 pounds. The weight that it can accurately measure is 330 pounds."

    Thanks for posting that!
  • Sounds interesting....
    hmmmmm.....
is there a known date for release in us?

I asked about original wii vs. addtional wii requirements thinking of kids games like nintendo and now ds... you know, anyway to squeeze more income from a product

    I believe it's May 21.
  • They are expected to be released approximately 5/21 - I have mine pre-ordered (a $10.00 deposit guarantees I get one). You don't just do push ups etc. There are other games like snowboarding and hula hoop that work on balance etc that the whole family can do. I've heard they are also working on new games to go with it, not just for exercise but just for fun. You can put the remote in your pocket and go for a "scenic jog" in front of your tv. We got our WII the same day we put the deposit on the balance board. I'm getting very excited about getting it. I love our WII. Can't wait for the balance board.
  • Maybe I'm pessimistic but I don't have much hope for the Wiifit. It really depends on how well they do it. Sure you can do yoga, but you can do yoga without it. You can also do pushups without it.

The thing that does kind of look interesting is such things as Wii Ski. Other game related activities including dancing (kind of like ddr?), or what not might have some use.
  • I saw an advertisement for it this weekend...I have been considering getting a Wii for my Son. Once I saw that, I am almost convinced that this Summer he will get one...I will have to get the Wii Fit program and try it.....
