  • TGIF!! Good morning everyone! Thanks for having me back Lauren. LOL

Lisa!! Hi there! How are you??

OK off to start my day. Have a great one everyone!
  • I'm a new 30something
Hi everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself to the other 30somethings on the site. I just joined yesterday and I find I'm already eager to get on the site whenever I get the chance. I have lots to lose and I'm excited to be here. I can tell it's going to be a great motivator! It's so great to see all of you on here doing the same thing I'm trying to do, having success and feeling my pain!
  • burhenns! Wow You've come really far!! Congrats. Glad to have you with us, this is a great group!!
  • Welcome, Burhens, and welcome back mama!!

First off, thanks to everyone for the brithday wishes...I had a great one.

Trish & Joan, I wnet flower shopping yesterday. Dropped Cady off at school, them mom & I went to Lowe's...spent 80.00!!! And that was only on annuals!! Mom gave me money and also bought me a Clematis to put by my mailbox...I can't wait till it's grown!! They are so beautiful!! Hope you girls have fun picking out your stuff today!!

Treated myself to a mani/pedi (which I do once/twice a year), and had a HUGE piece of choc. cake last night! YUUMMM.

Today, Cad-o and I are going to Target, Ulta (for some more nail polish, makeup, etc), Lowes (think I'm gonna need more impatiens), and then off to get our hair cut. So, a nice mommy/daughter day!!

Tomorrow night my bellydance instructor is putting on her yearly show (like a recital with other performers as well), so my gf and I are gonna go to that...we are so excited. I did an extra class the other day at one of her other studios (so it was a whole new group of girls) and they were practicing their routine...well, the teacher told me to jump in with them. By the third time, I had it down. They were doing a few moves that she had just shown me that night. Afterwards, she pulled me aside and was like, "Pam, these women have been doing theis for several sessions..you've ony had one session..you're doing awesome!!" Well, that made me feel great, and I'm definitely sticking with it. This time next year, I'LL be getting ready for MY routine in the show, lol!!!

Okay, ladies...hope you all have a wonderful day. Enjoy the weather if you can. I'll try to check back later!!

    HUGS!!

    Pam
  • Good morning everyone, I am new here. I am excited to be able to start getting to know everyone.
  • Good morning everyone! I am taking break from cleaning - have some friends coming to watch DS tomorrow night, so I thought I better get things in order...

Hello to mamma, NCGurl and burhens!

Glad to hear that you had a fun day Pam!

Off to more work around the house! Have a great day everyone.
  • Welcome back to all the oldies and all the newbies welcome to you to! Too many from yesterday to remember them all, lol.

Pam, sounds like a nice birthday. I'm going to do the pedicure for mothers day...I'll probably make it a mother/daughter thing too.

Lisa, enjoy your weekend off and I hope work has been better for you.

Talking about flowers, my yard is a mess. I guess this weekend I willhave to pull out the lawn mower myself and get the grass cut. I just need someone to start it for me. We have some plants coming up 1 is an Iris, the others, I have no idea what they are. I am still not feeling good, if I were, I would be out in my garden too.

Yesterday there was a parent meeting at school, Spencer will be transfering from primary to elementary next year. The coordinator pointed out there are only about 28 days left of school, amazing, no? Oh and me with my absent mindedness ended up at the wrong school at first.

There was a big blowup at home the other night and things are not good and I am not sure what I can do about it.

Sorry for not posting individuals, I hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful weekend.

  • Happy Friday everyone! Yesterday was Alex's BD and I made him a cake from scratch. I was so nervous about how it would taste, but it was delicious. The frosting was made in the food processor and I couldn't believe that it was so quick and easy. I'm exhausted from all the running around and cleaning I've been doing. We still have the party tomorrow, but at least I don't have to clean or cook. We just show up at the karate school and they do everything else!

Welcome!! to all of the newbies. We are very happy to have you here.

OK, I'm off to face the mountain of laundry that I've ignored for the past couple of days! Have a super Friday!
  • Hi All!

Karen, Is the frosting Blue?? In keeping the theme of previous blue-tongued years? See ya' tomorrow!

Alicia, Sorry things are tough at home. Primary to Elementary?? What is primary?

    NCGurl,

Pam, Awesome on the belly dancing! You know we want to see video of you, right?!

    Burhenns,

Hope everyone's having a great day! I've been by myself here the past 2 days, so it's been a bit crazy!
  • Thanks for the friendly welcome.. I hope all you guys have a wonderful weekend..
  • Hola Chickies!

I bought some awesome flowers today, I only spent about 150$, but I got some good plants. If I keep adding to it every year soon I won't have to buy anything but a few annuals. The people that lived here before had put out a bunch of boxwoods and shrubs with thorns along the walkways and junipers everywhere. YUCK!!! I want flowers, smell and color, thats the only way to go.
My eating is good most of the time, so I'm just gonna have to get it completely together if I'm gonna drop 10 lbs by this time next month. Gotta go, DD has an AAU b-ball game at 9pm, and I've got to get a shower and get kiddos ready too. Have a great evening.

Oh Yeah to all the New Chicks!!!!!!

    Trish
  • Hi everyone. Boy, it's been a day!! I'm glad it's nearing an end....bad as it sounds, I'm looking forward to putting my 3 yr old in the bed in a little while. (BAD MOMMY!!)

Wow, I'm not feeling so alone with all the other new folks showing up here all of a sudden! (I know, I'm not REALLY new, but I came back, so I kinda qualify! lol) Welcome everyone! It's a great place....put it on your favorites, so if you lose it and fall off the wagon, it'll still be in your favorites...haunting you everytime you get on line. You'll eventually get back on track and come back like I did. I never let myself remove the site from my favorites....I found my way back. It's a great place of motivation.

Well, today's been so-so. I had (of all things) a chicken salad sandwich for breakfast (Hey, it coulda been worse....coulda been graham crackers!! lol) and a ham sandwich for lunch (no cheese) and a handfull of ff chips. I had a graham cracker for a snack. I figure I've had 5 points for breakfast and probably 7 for lunch. 1 for snack. I'm allowed 28 total!!

Trish, I'm not actually going to WW meetings....just following the program. You guys are my support....ya'll and my hubby. I need a lot of support...I know I could do it myself, but it's so much easier with support! It's hard, as most 30-something's know, to cook something for a family that they'll eat (esp if you have small children) and then to have to watch what you eat. I'm glad we all have each other to lean on!

Pam, I must admit....I'm envious! With a 3 year old, I'm lucky to be able to go to the bathroom by myself....A pedicure and manicure sounds WONDERFUL!! Going to the bathroom by myself sounds wonderful! LOLOL Glad you had a GREAT birthday! I know you deserved it!

Well, I'm off to check on my shrimp to see if it's thawed for supper. Have a great evening everyone!

  • Hi everyone!

Molly ~ it's great to see you back:-)

    burhenns ~ welcome friend!

Pam ~ you go Girl! So cool that you're loving that class so much. It has to be terrific exercise. Also, glad to hear that you had a great b-day. Is Frank still sick?

NCGurl ~ Welcome to another new friend!

Delta ~ have fun on your evening out this weekend.

Alicia ~ so sorry to hear that there is trouble at home ~ big hug to you sweetheart...

KarenK ~ Happy Birthday to your big boy!

Hi ya' Lauren. Happy weekend to you...

Trish ~ I hear ya'... it's all about colors and smells to me too. We have a whole lot of ivy here. Slowly but surely I'm working on getting rid of it. I like a little of it but there is just too much.

Diana ~ LOL at your breakfast. I remember months ago you were into baked potatoes and ranch dressing for breakfast. Too funny. BTW, I agree with you about putting this website on your favorites list. Sure has helped me stick with all of you wonderful people.

My SIL and I spent the entire day shopping in a historic area. We ate lunch outdoors at a little cafe and then went to look around some more. It was such a fun day. I picked up these beautiful ceramic mushrooms for my flower beds. We have a busy weekend coming up so I'm not sure if I'll be on the computer. Hope that everyone has an excellent one ~ Joan

    Hi, Burhenns! Welcome.

I've been MIA from here for a while, but I know I need the encouragement/support, so I'm back. I have lots to lose, too, so you're in good company!

Dh is working on losing weight, too, and he is totally kicking my butt on the exercise end of it. Man. The boy got 4 hours of sleep last night, like me. He got up, went to work. He did the crunches and push-ups he's been shooting for, at work, in the morning (they have an employee exercise room...nice!). He walked the route he's been walking at lunchtime, which we estimate is about 3 miles total. And then he came home and went for his afternoon/evening walk, which is at least 2 miles...more if he goes up & down the lanes in the cemeteries down the road... I know that might sound morbid, but they're nice paved lanes, there's some incline/decline stuff going on, and it's off the road, so it's safe. I usually go as far as the cemeteries, then let the little one run on the paths while the big one & I walk.

We've tried all of us going for the walk, but I've learned I just cannot keep up with him! There are 11 inches difference in height between us, and you can tell. It takes two of my strides to make up one of his walking normally, but he's been doing this for a couple weeks now and is in better condition, and if I'm pushing the stroller, too... I just get worn down too fast.

So, I have to figure out an exercise plan for me. Need to pull out some of the exercise videos we have. There is a Cardio Salsa one I still need to watch.
