Picture Perfect weight loss

  • Hello,

I just picked up the book by Dr. Shapiro called Picture Perfect Weight Loss. i read about it in Prevention magazine, and thought i would give it a try. Basically, the book has dozens of big beautiful colour pictures of foods and their healthy equivalents. for example: one lowly corn muffin has the same amount of calories of half a cantaloupe, half a honey dew melon, a pint of raspberries, and 6 slices of light bread.

i'm just reading the book now, but am wondering if anyone else has tried this, and how it worked out. I'll keep you posted on how things work out.

    thanks
  • I saw the book on Amazon and was very curious about it. I've not looked at it at the local bookstore yet though. Please do keep us updated, I think it's a very unique idea and we'll be curious to see how successful it is. Thanks
  • I checked out this book last year...
from the library. It's a pretty good book, but IMO isn't really a 'diet' - more like showing that instead of eating a cookie, you can have a lot more of the lower-calorie healthy food.

It may be good reading for those who don't have a lot of info about nutrition but as far as a diet...well, it's been awhile since I've seen the book...but in my mind it really had nothing new in it, other than all the nice pictures...
