Hi CHRISTINA . . . from another Canadian . . . I'm originally from Toronto but have been living 'down east' for the past 15 years (unlike so many people who move in the opposite direction )

Don't know if we've got an Herbal Magic thread in General diet Plans or not, but you should take a look. I've got a sneaking suspicion it's a Canadian thing.

You are already doing well, especially in staying away from the Zeller's restaurant food -- they (at least at my local store) make the best french fries in captivity -- I hardly dare set foot in the place.

We've got a Crazy Canuks Cluck Club on the go in The Support Groups Forum. Hope you will drop in to say HI from time to time.

Hi Christina,

Hello from another fellow Canadian, and welcome!
I find that in general it is really a bad idea NOT to bring your own lunches. Around here, most of the places we would end up eating at lunch would be

McD's
Pizza Pizza
Wendy's
Tim Horton's
Quiznos
etc.

Pretty much all very bad choices. I have always tried to bring my own lunches, but it is easy to slip and just go "grab something" (and I find it very hard NOT to have McD's fries). Since this January, i am making a conscious effort not to eat out (unless it's an emergency and I had to time to cook or I just go with co-workers (which I consider more or less a 'social event'). There is a lot more money in my account at the end of the month plus I know what I am eating (ie. how much fat or salt is in there).

Geez, I should not have read about how good fries at Zellers are .... I don't think I ever ate there.
