Default Took a big step

So, i'm "new" though I've been here before but not for a very looooooooong time.

anyway, i decided yesterday I want to do race for life this year. it won't be the first time, i've done it before but not for a few years now. my mum's gonna do it with me cos i asked her this morning (she usually does it anyway).

But anyway, i kind of have ulterior motives for this.

i have a gym membership that i'm bad at using and it costs me a lot each month. so the way i see it, if i'm working towards something like this then it'll make me want to go cos you know, i'd love to jog the course this year instead of walk around it.

i'm even thinking of asking the trainers at the gym to set me something that'll help me to get ready for it rathe than just me going on the treadmill and everything else that i can do.

So, i might need some support and you guys have been great in the past so here i am again!

btw i'm rachel, aged 24 and weigh about 20 stone.

Hello Rachel, and welcome back.

I'm sure one time here one of the girls had a plan how to work up to a 5k race.
There are quite a few runners on this forum.

Good luck
Michele

Rachel here's a brilliant beginner's running programme. I used it in 2005-6 and lost nearly 3 stone:

It will take you from being a non runner to being able to run well enough for what you need!
