Talking Supporting Each Other on Our Weight Loss Journey

This is a great thread for those who want support, helpful hints, friendship and a great bunch of people to communicate with. This thread has existed for a long time and we keep re-starting it whenever the old one gets too long. Feel free to stop in and chat, we are not a "closed" group and welcome newcomers. Some of us have been together for well over a year, some only a few days, but we care about each other. We offer tips, we share, we pick each other up of the floor when we've had rough times and we applaud when someone does well.

So, please do stop on by and share a bit, support is what it's all about! We can really do this together.

Okay - here we are with a clean slate. Does that help at all Linda? I know how you love a new week and a new tracker. let's leave those negative thoughts behind and go forward. Ann gave us the breath of life and let's run with it.

I did a first tonight. I went to the gym. I earned 4 activity points and I am SO PROUD of myself. I actually walked on the treadmill for 1/2 hr at 3.0 and a 1.5 incline. I did some type of rowing type machine that works your legs and arms and you turn your arms upward and it works the back side of your arms. Then I did a 15 minute turn on the bicycle with resistance - I sweated and I'm sure I wasn't pretty BUT I DID IT!!! And I didn't stink at it as badly as I've always been afraid of. It helps that one of my friends is going with me and she has never worked out before. Another friend was at the gym and gave us the quick run down on how the machines worked. Now to follow her lead. I think I can ger there 1 time a week and do extra walking and DDR the rest of the week.

WHOO HOOO !!! I never thought I could do it and I CAN, I REALLY CAN

Hello to everyone else, I am so sorry if I missed anyone.

I am currently trying to PREPARE MYSELF, the book tells me that good plans shape good decisions. I also read good plans start with goals. I will need to come up with Goals that are realistic and attainable.

Have a wonderful day everyone.
Take Care
Ann

Good morning everyone,
Well it's back to FLEX for me. I was so hopeful for CORE, but I couldn't do it. I'm not sure what it's going to take to get me to get serious about this, I just can't be honest with myself, and I don't know what that's about.

Laura-I need/want some of you good energy right now. You're stringing all these days of being OP together, and working out, can you send some my way?

Linda-How are you? Still riding that storm out?

Ann- Are you back from vacation now? I did pull out week 3, I took the test, now I need to do something about it.

Ok, well I measured the FF creamer that just went into my coffee, now I need to go find a journal. One thing I know I have not been doing is drinking all my water each day. Here we go again!

Talking

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm here I believe I've took a couple days off or something, whew I've been busy I've been working on a chair, and on weekends, well, I just can't seem to get to the computer for DH,anybody else in here have that problem? He's nosy sometimes.Anyway just wondering how we're doin. I have banned my self from the scales 'till after Auntie Flo leaves, she hasn't got here yet,but I do expect her either by the 31st or on the 1st. I've been eating special K and bananas (with Shelby) to try to get a little head start on my weight loss when I go back on the ww, well I'm still following it,but not to the point,ya know, still working on my water intake and the funny thing about that is, I like water,it's not like I can't stand it,I've even resorted to putting(this is funny) jalapenos in my salads!! so that makes me really get the water, plus that hotness boosts your metabolism a little,or so i've heardAnyway it's 8:30 a.m. and I better get to work by 9 so I can cut out of there by 3 so I can come home and catch up with you guys, yesterday just wasn't meant to be , I didn't get to work 'til 11, that was funny,I just try to keep laughing and not stress,I know stress kinda hinders your weight loss too. Well Girls let's go make some money!!

I'm on the fly this morning, will be back later to read and respond....
Laura, thanks for re-starting the thread!

I did better yesterday! I decided that part of my problem is that I had been feeling so restricted on CORE, so yesterday I made a monumental decision and went back to FLEX. I had bread without freaking out that I was going over on my flex points. I was delighted.
One thing I do love about WW is that there are two programs and, depending on my mood, I can and will go back and fourth between them both. So, today, I can go out to lunch and also not freak out that some of the good foods that are OK to eat are just not CORE.
I feel better already. I will be in meetings ALL DAY and then go to my WW meeting. I took advantage of this and put a stew in my crockpot to cook all day. So, about 5:30 pm when I walk back in the door, it will smell good and I will be feeling happy that dinner is planned and "safe".
HUGS,

Yea for some of our friends stopping by!!!!

Great job Linda and Erica - I had to reboot with Flex too. I found that I love the recipes for Flex so that's usually what I do. However, I do love the alternative core for those weeks when I don't want to count and can get back into the groove. Flex always puts me where I need to be so I do love that option.

Kim - I hope you go back to the old thread and see what I posted about migraines and hormones. Hope everyone is back to healthy right now.

We had a big warm up here yesterday and today. Rain that melted some of the snow but there still aren't any bare spots in my yard. Our schools are cancelled because the rain made the back road ice rinks and unsafe. The arctic cold front is due in there starting this afternoon and more snow in the forecast. It is January in Michigan.

Ann - how's that prepare yourself step going? Did you figure out some different foods and menus to treat yourself with?

Shelbysmom - good to see you back too. Keep up with us. There's lots to share in our thread. You have the right mind set. When will you be starting WW?

Barb- I had a mind slip. You really aren't doing WW right? An adaptation of the plan and staying with us right? Let me know cuz I'm hazy.

Tech & Paige - where are you?

Haylo - how's this week going? Still working it?

Waving at everyone! Sandra - we miss you

Good Morning!

Well, I still have two kids home, only instead of the two younger ones, I have the oldest and the youngest. Sore throats and nasty colds have invaded my house. My migraine is trying to come back.... I have a feeling that once I get over the migraine, it will be my turn at the cold.

Yesterday was a good eating day, but I didn't get a chance to get on the treadmill. Between the business phone ringing off the hook, and having to type up drivers ed certificates, I just ran out of time. I should have gotten on last night after getting everyone to bed, but I just pooped out. I'll have a little time this morning, then I have another slew of certificates to do this afternoon. I am inspired by everyones workouts and I feel like a slacker!!

Laura - thanks for the tip for the migraines. I will have to look into that too! Isn't this weather rediculous. Our kids did have school today, the busses were running really late due to the dirt roads being nothing but a skating rink. I am pretty sure that the superintendents office is getting calls this morning from unhappy parents.

Linda - have a great day and good luck getting back with flex. Doing the core program is challlenging. Everytime I look for something, it isn't on the list... I don't see myself staying with this for long, but I do like it to help me to get a handle on my carb addicition.

Barb - Do you know what kind of wine you are going to make? DH and I started making wine a couple of years ago and we love it. We are going to try and make peach wine this summer from scratch ourselves. DH knows a man who owns a supply store and he made his own raspberry wine last year and said it was easy and fun. I am not really keen on the peach flavor, I would rather do raspberry, but I look forward to trying it out. We always buy the juice from a wine company and go from there. I love wine, but I can't drink much of it because I believe I have a slight allergy to it, or something in it. Sort of a mixed blessing I guess!!

Ok, I am off to the bank and then to the treadmill. Today will be a rough eating day as I was planning to grocery shop today, but now with the kids home, I'll have to get creative in the kitchen with no produce or various other staples I rely on.

Any way now that I'm doing a few little furniture jobs, I can really get what I need at the grocery also, I really hate to get all this stuff that I need and it comes up more than 1/2 the grocery bill,ya know? and Dh will not eat the stuff that I eat. he's mostly just a meat and tater kinda guy!!

Wow busy thread......Hello meveryone...
Trysh you mentioned a furniture job...What do you do???? My dh is a meat and tarter man too. However he does Manual labor all oday too.
Derry glad you seem happy.
Rosegarden maybe this is what we needed a new thread to inspire us all.
Erica, good for you on recording....I nedd to writew my things down alos.

Rosegarden, I am counting cals and kinda doing pts along with it. But my new thing with all this is just concentrsating on whole wheats and not alot of white flours. We will see how it goes.I went out to lunch with a friend and ordered a salad with chicken and balsamic vingerette. I had a very small amount of bread. Than I came home and looked it up on the dwlz. It was 20 pts. Dang I thought I choose well. But if I look at the cal It was 700 and I only ate 300 this morning. So I have 500 more left. I am having stuffed cabbage tonight with dinner and I do not think It is over 500 cals. Actually I could have 800 more but I try to keep it at 1500 and if I go over than ok. It is just easier for me to count as opposed to do all the converting. I just NEED to write it down.So that is what I am trying to do.....

Well I did a spin class again today. Died but walked out proud that I did it. I just found out my dks have a late start tom morning so I need to make myself go to the gym later. NOt sure how that will go but i need to since I can not go on FRiday...I am just not liking lifting the weights anymore. Although the more I read the more I know how important it is to do this to rev up my metabalism........So I will try my hardest to go tom.

Kim, I do not know what kind I am making yet. We go and try different ones and than pick what we like. I am sure it will be a red. We both love red wine.

I am off to take care of an argument about the wii. Oh my gosh ...KIds gotta love themm......Barb

Still don't have time to read all the posts, please forgive me! I'll do better with that tomorrow.
So, I weighed in today and lost .6, I was kind of surprised as I didn't think I'd have a loss.
Flex is fun for now, I'm going a bit crazy with breads, I think. I'll settle in within a couple of days, but it was so nice to have bread at all three of my meals today with no guilt.
I've got a sore throat and I'm all achy, though, so I am going to get in my flannel nightgown and have something cool for my throat and watch TV. Bedtime will be early.
I hope everyone is doing well.

OH MY - two nights in a row at the gym! It's so exhilarating. I always thought I'd die working out at the gym but you don't have too. Why oh why didn't I ever do this before? Scared to start and to try. WHOO HOO!!!! At almost 50, I tried something totally out of character and I actually like it - go figure!
