Red face Hi all. Starting out and need a pal.....

Hi everyone. I'm new, just starting my journey and I'd love a pal to climb the hill with (Daunted just thinking about it but there's no turning back)

I'm 36 ( but 21 in my head!) and a single mum with a 15 year old son. I've checked these boards out some time ago, but have only just stopped fooling myself. I'm done. I have about 80lbs to lose..ouch, hurts to even type!

If there's anyone out there willing to share support and encouragement then please get in touch. I'm gonna do this and I'd love some company. Good luck to you all

Hello and welcome!! Good luck in your weight loss journey!!! Have you decided what plan of action you are taking ( WW, Atkins, Sonoma)?

Hey &

It's daunting to think of the whole journey, but if you take it one step (or lb ^^) at a time it's much more manageable.

Best of luck!!

Smile thanks

Hi Ladies,

Thank you for the kind wishes. I'm going to try this the old fashioned way, with diet and exercise. I've never made a proper effort before and I figure it's all math, less in and more out has to equal something good. I'm only a few days in and to be honest I am pretty resolved regarding my eating, it's exercising I find difficult. I'm such a lump that it's sooo much effort just to shift my (way too large) backside!! I am doing a little each day at home (don't venture too far out yet) and I'm hoping that as I go along it will get a little easier and I'll be able to do more each day.

This site is so great, I'm so encouraged by everyone's positivity. One day at a time......

Hi and welcome!

It's best really to incorporate these things slowly. Can you imagine doing all the right things from day one? I'd poop out part way through day two!

Read around and make yourself at home. Let us know if there's anything we can help you find.

Hi Windsorgirl!!

I too am new and need to lose about 80 pounds! I'm a 35 year old stay-at-home mom of 2 girls. I've been married to my hubby for 10 years (since he sees me everyday I don't think even he realizes how huge I've become!)

I started about 3 weeks ago and have lost 10 pounds now. It's pretty much killing me ha! ha!

I could use a buddy too, someone who understands THE HUNGER!! Also if windsorgirl is south western ontario... I too am from SWO!

Glad you started!

Smile 10lbs!!

Hi Chunkomommy,

Sorry, I was trying to pm before I realised I couldn't do that yet ( i'm a little blonde!) Losing 10lbs already is greatWell done! That must feel great!!

I totally understand about the hunger, I'm just about coping too. I'm trying to remember to drink loads of water to keep myself full, I'm getting there but giving up fizzy drinks is killing me!!

My Windsor is in Ireland unfortunately though I visited Windsor, Ontario many moons ago and its much nicer. I should sign off before I waffle on too much but I'd love to buddy up. Keep up the good work!!

Welcome! I'm a long-time dieter/exerciser that let 20 pounds creep on after a successful couple of years...so I'm right there with you with the 'starting out'.

I'm on week three of limiting myself to 1500 calories, instead of 'whatever the heck I want'. I can tell you that eventually, that hungry feeling subsides, or maybe we get better at being able to tell when it's not really hunger, just the "I wants". And through trial and error we can find what healthy foods stick with us longer.

As you've probably seen, there are LOTS of special interest groups here. EVERYONE is so welcoming, no matter where you go

If you happen to love motorcycles (motorbikes in your neck of the world ) you could pop in to our "Chick on Motorcycles" thread

Tons of support and info on this site. It's great!
