waist measurement issues

  • so i just bought an amazing cosplay winter wool coat. it's absolutely adorable and it's all custom. I am a seamstress so you'd think that i'd know something about waist measurements. i made my measurements accordingly with what i expect my waist to measure when it comes (sometime around november/ december) my current measurement is 29.5- 30.0 ish inches. i told them that they should make the coat about 28.5 inches. In the past, when i have lost weight i have lost about 1 - 1.5 inches off my waist for every 10 lbs, or so. do you think that this is a realistic goal to be down to a 28.5 inch waist at 143 lbs if i am at 153 and have a 29-30 inch waist now?
  • I have a 25" waist at 143 pounds

But I am a few inches taller than you which I am guessing may make a difference...it would also depend on your body shape and amount of muscle tone.

I wouldnt think it entirely unrealistic though! At all
  • I think you can lose about an inch from your waist by then!
  • gl
  • I reached a 28 inch waist when i was down to 140, so I believe its possible, the waist is also the slowest for me when it comes to losing so now even at 128 my waist is only 27 inches. I've kinda been lazy with toning/weight training though so I realise now that i'm kicking that up a notch i'll probably lose more inches. But as said in previous replies, it really depends on ones height, bodyshape as well as your muscle tone. Good luck thought, I believe its entirely possible!
  • hmm well i am about 147lbs 5ft 6 and have a 28inch waist so yes it is realistic i carry most of my weight on my but unfortuantly and my hips at a size 36 anyway to say yes it is very very possible.
  • im a 29" waist at 143....
  • I'm 5"3 and I had a 29 inches waist at 120 lbs
Not a big belly, just large...
