Greetings from NY

  • Hi, I'm 41 and in the middle of my weight loss goal. I started out back in May 2004 at 250 pounds. Right now, my weight is fluctuating at about 193-195 pounds. My goal is 150 (I'm 5'8). Right now, I'm focusing on getting down to 180, which is when I have the ok to start some light jogging. I've been told to stick (by podiatrist & regular dr.) to stick to lower impact stuff 'til then. I'm doing pretty well with cardio (ellipitical, walking & exercise bike), but taking up weights is a challenge. But I know it will help burn fat & improve bone health, so I'm trying to do it. Also, I've enjoyed yoga & spin classes when I get a chance to those.
  • Hello Lisa, welcome aboard!

I too have been told to take it easy with my exercise following a pelvic fracture and knee injury (I was in a bad car accident). So basically the only thing I can do is walk. I'm looking forward to the day when I can get back on the elliptical, do weight training, and possibly jog again! Anyways, I sorta know how you feel.
