Broccoli Slaw Recipes?

  • I bought some broccoli slaw from the store yesterday, but I'm not quite sure what to do with it. Anyone have any good recipes?
  • I have an excellent recipie for it, but it is really fattening, would you still want it?
  • 1 pkg. Broccoli Slaw
    1/2 cup raisins
    1/2 cup sunflower seeds
    1/2 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
    1/4 cup of grated cheese

    Combine and toss with dressing

    Dressing:
    1 cup mayonnaise
    2 tablespoons vinegar
    1/2 cup sugar

I'm sure there is a way to make it healthier, so I went ahead and posted it.

Substitute light or fat-free mayo for the regular mayo and Splenda for the sugar maybe? and turkey bacon or BacOs for the regular bacon?
  • I have a couple of yummy ones..that I have modified from the original recipie. Check the recipe reviews. My name on there is Linda T and you can see how I changed things to make them healthier.

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Mother-...es/Detail.aspx yummy for breakfast. cut way down on the potato, add garlic, just a little cheese on top. if you like cheese taste add some ff cream cheese to dish. Doesn't taste bad in the recipie

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Brocco-Burger/Detail.aspx yum for lunch. I make these wraps in advance and freeze them. Nuke them at work for lunch.

Normally the Mann's fresh vegetable site has a bunch of recipes but it is under construction right now.

Just google "Broccoli Slaw" with quotes and you should get a ton of recipies.
  • I love this stuff, and I use it like cabbage or broccoli in a lot of ways. Like I add it to soups and stir fries, I even toss it into chicken and tuna salad for crunch. Mmmm.
  • thank you everyone for the replies. I'm excited to try some of these recipes!
  • Try this asian inspired recipe:

Mix 4 tsp. soy sauce, 1 tsp. honey, 1 Tbls. fresh chopped ginger, 1/2 tsp. rice vinegar and 1 tsp. sesame oil in a bowl until well blended. Pour over broccoli slaw, toss, chill 30 minutes then serve. (Four servings is 1 point each for WW)

I also love broccoli slaw in a pita or wrap with shredded chicken or tuna and some low cal or fat free dressing. Crunchy and satisfying!
