Leftover food on Nutrisystem??

  • I need some suggestions, please. I've been on NS for 3 months. I've accumulated almost 3 weeks worth of meals that I haven't eaten. I attend a lot of work lunches, dinner out, etc.. and I don't eat every meal. And there are many meals that I just didn't like but so I didn't eat the additional meals that I had ordered.

I was thinking of selling on ebay or craigs list, is it ok to do that? Or maybe donating it to a local food pantry.
I don't have any more cupboard space, I'm slowly crowding my husbands food and today I almost put food away into the baby's cupboard. I feel like I'm taking over the kitchen!

Help!! I love NS and I've lost 37.6 pounds and it works so well for me. Oops, have to update my ticker..

    Anyhoo - thoughts, comments, suggestions??
  • I had MANY NS meals that I just couldn't tolerate (no longer on that plan) but I was able to sell all of them for a pretty good price on eBay... just be sure to get the shipping right as the meals can be quite heavy. I listed them separately by breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack/dessert.

Good luck reclaiming some pantry space.
  • Unless you need the money...donate it. You're doing FAB on your weight loss, now 'pay it forward'!
  • You can delay your auto delivery -that way you can use up some of the food.
  • also, at ns site, there are trade threads.
  • I packed in in boxes with a couple gallons of water bottles and stored it in my garage. The shelf life is great for earthquake supplies.

A lot of the foods do have expiration dates on them, so you might want to check and make sure the food isn't expired!
  • These aren't really "expiration" dates, they're "use by" dates. They will be edible for years and years. However, after the use by date, the company won't guarentee freshness or taste because the color and texture can be affected. As long as the seal is intact and for the dehydrated stuff, they've been kept free of moisture, they're actually edible indefinitely.
