Default Dumb question about WATP

I have a dumb question. When you ladies plug WATP into Fitday, what do you classify it as? I've been counting it as 4mph walking but was wondering if it should be calisthenics or something instead? I'm not counting calories to worry about exacts, but would like a realistic number for the intensity of te workouts. Oh yeah, the video is the 4 mile super challenge.

TIA, Missi

I don't use fitday but myfooddiary instead basically the same thing.

Your options may be different but I count mine as low-impact aerobics because your doing a lot more then walking and I break more of a sweat then I do when walking briskly.

Do you have a Heart rate monitor? If you do you could compare the two numbers (walking 4 miles versus the DVD)

I think a 4 mile walk for me is about 488 and logging the DVD is 513 something (I actually put 50 mins low-impact and 10 mins walking 2mph for the warmup/cooldown) so there isn't a huge difference but I'm about 20lbs heavier so my#'s are slightly higher then yours might be.

Hope that wasn't too confusing. Heh!

I use spark people's fitness tracker and also log it as low-impact aerobics. It's so much more than walking, especially when you do 4 miles!

Just an FYI: on Leslie Sansone's site they have said that you burn approximately 100 calories per mile without a booster and 125 per mile with a booster. Of course, that is only an estimate, since it's all based on your size and fitness level!

That darn fit day does not have aerobics listed as an option.

The low-impact aerobics does make more sense than just walking because I seem to sweat more and "feel the burn" more. LOL

Muse - do you feel that myfooddiary is worth the 9$ a month? It IS cheaper than using WW or something and I'm assuming it's easy to use with any diet program someone would chose to follow?

I'm going to look at sparks too. Wonder why I neer noticed these two sites before when looking for online food journals? LOL

Thanks ladies.

FitDay has "aerobics - low impact" in the exercise section. You have to look under "dancing" to find it.

I do like MFD a lot I find it more user friendly then the other ones.

It tracks your weight/measurements on a graph, has a bunch of reports/graphs you can look at, and it's really easy to see the breakdown of what you eat. It even gives you little smiles/frowns for encouragement in your daily report. The food database is fairly good and you can add things of your own to keep in your "fridge" plus enter recipies etc.

I like that it gives me guidelines... how many calories left if I want to lose 2lbs this week... and It gives me more for exercise. It does encourage you to eat back your exercise calories, which I know some people don't like... But I only usually eat back about half of mine anyway.

There is a message board too which can sometimes be helpful, but I do like the 3fc one here just a wee bit better.

Is it worth the 9 bucks? For me it has been definately. 36lbs down so far since Early/Mid June (although 9 of those were from a few weeks befor joining) It really helps me keep on track.

But the free programs will do the same just alittle more bare-bones and less user friendly (but thats just my opinions some people like them)
