Default Anyone use Cottage Cheese on a salad?

I love salad..But I also love dressing and cheese. I was wondering if anyone had tried cottage cheese on their salad as a sub for both? I figured it would give me a cheese texture with the creaminess of a dressing..But I am a little scared to try it LOL.

My mom does it all the time. She either mixes in a tiny amount of a full fat dressing into the cottage cheese and uses it as a dressing, or she just juses the cottage cheese. I'm not normally a big cottage cheese fan, but I love blue cheese dressing which is usually pretty high in fat and calories (at least the ones that taste any good) So I mix in a few crumbles of a very strong blue cheese with cottage cheese and a little milk, salt and pepper and a splash of rice vinegar or lemon or lime juice and there I have a low calorie blue cheese dressing.

I love it on salads. It cuts down on the amount of salad dressing I use.

I used to put cottage cheese on my salads but then I realized how high in sodium it was!! Now as a treat I enjoy a little bit of fresh herbed goat cheese instead! It really makes the salad creamy!

I like to use lf/ff sour cream mixed with salsa for salad dressing - I warm the sour cream for 10-15 sec in the microwave and it makes a nice creamy dressing. I do sometimes put cottage cheese on my salad, too, esp if I have no other protein source on it.

A 1/2 cup container of cottage cheese is the first thing I put in my lunch bag for work too.

I've put cottage cheese on my salads, but with dressing. (Previous to calorie counting). I'll definitely have to try some of the ideas on here, or just cottage cheese. Sounds yummy.

ff cottage cheese is good. It helps to put other veggies in the salad for health and flava! like cukes red peppers etc.

I've found that I LOVE using salsa as a dressing! 0 fat low cal and lots of flava!

hehehehe

Lowfat cottage cheese, 2% shredded sharp cheddar, FF Ceasar Dressing, on a salad. Can't beat it with a stick. Been eating that everyday for 32 weeks.

This is also a good one-stick low fat cottage cheese in your food processor and a package of Ranch Dressing Mix, blend until smooth, use it as a dip for veggies and baked chips.......FANTASTICALLY SINFUL.......
