BELLA . . . So sorry to hear that Sacha has developed that little 'problem'. Definitely sounds like he's punishing you for what he sees as major mistreatment. Definitely give him some extra cuddle-time until he gets used to the dog.

BTW, we do have a recipe "Sticky" at the top of the forum.

See you later, gators . . .

Hi all - I've been having trouble getting into the board for the past few days.

Welcome back rosey - sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Mickey - sorry for the ignorance you have having to endure from people. Congrats on the a1c rosetta. Sorry for the creatinin tho.

Yesterday was my dgd's 17th birthday, and they invited me out to dinner with them. She and I both wanted the same thing but neither of us wanted to overeat (we both wanted to save room for cake), so we asked the waiter to split 1 entree between the 2 of us. It was exactly enough for us, and I was so proud for not over-doing it. And I had cake, and still had a bsl of 116 this am. It's so nice when I feel like I'm learning new things about how to eat.

Good job, JERIE . . . Bet the cake tasted even better because you planned for it.

JEANNE . . . My favourite book on the glycemic index is The New Glucose Revolution. Actually there's a series of books, some specifically aimed at Diabetics, all with similar titles and all written by the same group of people. Have a look on Amazon.

See you later MICKEY . . .

I made some carbolicious fairy cakes (cupcakes but on a much smaller basis!) and sugar cookies. I was supposed to make basic chocolate chip cookies as well, but I just got sick of flour in my hair and all that muck!

I've not had good bsl levels in the mornings as of late. I keep forgetting to have my night time insulin because I have it with dinner. And you know how it is being all college aged and poor. Sometimes dinner just doesnt come round till when its completely convenient. ie 9pm instead of 6pm. If I take the Long Acting insulin after 8pm, I have that possibility of going to bed at 12, then waking up at 1 with a really low sugar level (37 usually)

and to be honest, I just hate, absolutely hate waking up to a low, because I usually find it hard making my way down stairs or even to the room across the hall for a snack. Not allowed food of any sort in the bedroom anyways.

I want to get back on track but today hasnt been very good. My bunny is sick. He basically hasnt moved more than 2 feet at all today
and he's not touched his food or hay. And for those who dont know, rabbits constantly need stuff in their digestive systems to live. So this is like the ultimate nono for rabbit owners. We took him to a vet, and he got some antibiotics and hopefully all will be well tomorrow. But just looking at him makes me so sad.

Oh and when we went to the Vets. There was a guy with the most adorable beagle ever. Made me want to cry, cuz I <3 beagles so much.

lol anywho, take care all you crazies!

Good Morning gang . . .

It's definitely a little cooler around here today . . . but not destined to be a lasting relief according to the weather station . . . hot again tomorrow. My BGL was 7.5 (136) this morning after my 4.8 (86) at dinner the night before (again). Still strange. Kittens unfurled another roll of toilet paper during the night. Think I'll just hve to get used to using it from a pile on the counter.

Here's an article from Everyday Health about Sleep Apnea and Diabetes I thought you'd like to read . . . http://www.everydayhealth.com/public...HC:%20Diabetes . . . think I'm definitely in that one-third . . . sometimes I snore so loudly, I wake myself up.

And here's a little FFFF for today, too . . .

It's a common misconception that eating shrimp sends your cholesteral levels skyrocketing. While it's true that shrimp contains roughly twice as much cholesterol as the same weight of meat, it has far less fat than meat and dietary fat is much more responsible for increasing cholesterol levels. Shrimp is a great low-fat food that's high in protein and a great source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Just hold off on the breading and the butter sauce.

Okay everybody . . . have a great moving and shaking kind of day and I'll see you later . . .

Morning all
well got no idea what my bsl was this am, forgot to test and then when i went to do my injection i saw i was all out of needles well guess im gonna be hanging out at walgreens after work. got an dr. apt tomorrow morning to do the final blood work for surgery which is monday.. kinda looking forward to it actually. I'll have a week off from work and be able to really rest for the first time in a while. here's a funny update on my future mil.. last nite i was on the phone with carl and i could hear her in the background saying "who are u on the phone with" over and over again and he says "well, who do u think?" and she says "michele" and he said "yes" so i said "tell her that i say hi" and he tells her and she said hi back but what was funny was the way she said it. just imagine someone taking a bite of a lemon and then trying to tell u hi lol it was so funny to me i just started laughing. but u know im starting to wonder if she is really racist or if this has more to do with losing her only son? maybe she was trying to run me off with the ugly comments? any of you moms want to chime in i'd love the input and advice

Casandra: i hope bunny feels better, must be heart breaking

Rosey: so glad to have u back! i missed your post and great job on the loss.
to everyone out there.. ttfn

Hi all. Feeling kinda "yuck" today - had several lows from about 8pm on so didn't get much sleep, plus having those lows always leaves me feeling kinda spacey is how I describe it. I'm with rosey - think today will be a jammie day.

See you all later.

Hi JEANNE . . . Strange weather. Our Summer has not been long, but it certainly has been hot. Stay cool, girl.

Hi ROSEY . . . Boy oh boy, I can definitely do without your recent excitement. Imagine you can too.

Hi MICKEY . . . You could be right. If so, she certainly picked a very unpleasant way to show it. As a Mother of two grown sons, I do not relate to her actions at all. I'm glad they both got great wives who have brought lots of terrific stability into their lives. As a matter of fact, I always tell my older son that I like his wife much better than I like him . . . but he knows I'm just being sarcastic . . . well, mostly.

Hi JERIE . . . So sorry to hear you are having a bad day. Hope tomorrow is a lot better.

Just got back from a long shopping trip with a girlfriend and we both spent way too much money, of course. It is 30C / 86F at 5:00 pm, but the humidity is down to a tolerable level. Wonder what tomorrow will bring?

Have a great evening everybody. Stay cool and comfy. See you tomorrow.
