Default 22 points = ?? calories

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me. I don't do WW, I count calories. Tonight DH and I went to Red Robin and split a cheeseburger and fries (I know, bad, but at least we split it!), and now I cannot find a calorie estimate anywhere. The best I have found is at Dottie's website where she lists the RR cheeseburger and fries as 22 points. Am I safe to assume that this is roughly 1100 calories? (so my half would be 550) Or should I add some more calories onto that?

Thanks for any help!

Don't do WW now, but when I did I remember someone mentioning that a point was roughly 50 calories.

in very GENERAL terms:

18 points = 1050 calories
20 points = 1150 calories
22 points = 1250 calories
24 points = 1350 calories
26 points = 1450 calories
28 points = 1550 calories
30 points = 1650 calories
32 points = 1750 calories
34 points = 1850 calories
35 points = 1900 calories (Weekly Points Allowance)
36 points = 2050 calories

Remember this is not always true but a good guide and DOES NOT include the 200-250 calories a day W/W built into the program for free veggies.

A WW Point is primarily based on 50 calories (give/take for fat/fiber), so I think 1100 is the best estimate you will get. I think the amounts in the last post must include some high-fiber foods, but I wouldn't think the burger (on white bun) and fries are much for fiber I really REALLY wish Red Robin would stop being such schmucks and just post their nutritional info on their site already. I know a LOT of people who have written to them asking for it, but they just weasle out a standard answer about having too many different combinations and yadda yadda yadda...

Close but the chart I gave is actually from a leaders manual back from a few years ago and that 1100 that you put for an estimate would be minus the 200-250 calories a day for free veggies and freebies.

I don't think they are weaseling out of anything nor giving a standard answer about different combos and area ingredients. That is a fact. Even on websites that they do give the info there is usually a disclaimer about regional items. As well as the fact that it costs hundreds of dollar for each item you have analyzed and they would have to pass off that cost to the consumer. None of us want to pay more than we already do when we dine out. Finally the USDA/FDA does not required a place to list the information unless they make a health claim (low calorie, low carb, low fat, hearth healthy etc).

The 22 WW Points should not include the 200-250 for free foods (such as veggies) since it was for 1 meal, not for an entire day's food. The original poster was asking about an estimated Points to calories converstion for a burger and fries--I don't think that has anything to do with 200-250 calories worth of veggies So I still think 1100 is a great estimate.

There are plenty of big chains that DO provide nutritional info and don't cost more than RR. I know such information is not a requirement, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice to have. I'd rather have a ballpark estimate with a disclaimer than nothing at all.

Man, remind me not to post in the WW section anymore

The daily plate . com lists it with calories and other info -- for a RR Cheese burger and fries. You might want to take a peak there.

Thanks everyone! I was thinking there wasn't much fiber in there. I'd rather overestimate my calories than underestimate them when I go somewhere like RR.

I also wish they would provide their nutritional info. Plenty of places do and I don't think it would be a hardship for them by any stretch of the imagination. I'm certain they already have that information and just don't release it.

And Shelby - THANKS for pointing out the dailyplate! I don't know why I didn't check there...checked everywhere else! I like their estimate better - LOL. Though I think I'll stick with my original to cover any extra fries that may have found their way from my children's baskets into mine.

Thanks again!

I know this is fairly old thread, but did you know you can get the nutrition values from the Red Robin website? Here's their "customizer" page: http://www.redrobin.com/home/customizer.aspx

WOW, that must be a relatively new feature on their site because I know a LOT of people have compained that Red Robin didn't offer nutritional information even if you specifically called or wrote to them. Thanks for posting this!!

850 calories for the burger, per the customizer.

I would be careful with the daily plate, they had cheeseburger and fries with 0 fat and 0 fiber, the burger by itself on the customizer had 49 grams of fat and 3 grams of fiber.

haven't found those fat free fries yet, dang
