Hello my name is Jennifer! This is my first post and first day on South Beach. I don't know if I am posting this right I am having a hard time logging in and figuring out how to do things. I would love to hear tips of what helped you when you first started this life style change. That is what made me decide to chose this diet is because it isn't a diet it is a life style change.I also had two relatives that were told by there doctor to use this method to lose weight. If I do get any responces I am not sure how to check them. Hopeful it will be obvious. I have a ??? can I have lemon in my water? I love it in my water I know it is a fruit but does it count . I am 26 I want to lose 20 lbs and gain friends I do have Im, I am not usually on there but if people want to I will sign on. Hope to hear from you all Thanks

yes you can have lemon in your water

have you read the book? 20 pounds is not a lot to lose so you probably will not lose much more than 3-5 pounds in phase 1 unless you were eating really really badly....

Welcome Jet... SB offers you a very healthy doable way to lose weight and adapt a healthful eating style.
SB purists will say no fruit on phase 1 --but I agree with Nessa, I dont think the amount in a lemon slice or 2 is going to have a major impact for you. Especially if thats the only way you can get your water in.

Hop over to the FAQ section of Southbeach. Theres lots of stickies (those topics that appear at the top ) with food lists, how tos, and whatnot... then head over to the recipe section for some thoughts on menus.. and visit us daily for a chuckle , support , or a we're all here to eachother on to their goals!

Jet,

This place is great, you can obtain many answers in the FAQ section of the SBD Forum. You will find so much support and many friends that will help you reach your goal. The great thing is that if you are ever feeling bummed and feel like you can't make it, just come in here posts and you will see how much motivation you will receive.

As for the lemon, yes you can have it. I love lemon in my water.

Once again a big and hope to see "read" more of you.

to the boards. Beginning SB for me was not much of a change I've always eaten a ton of veggies. The hardest thing for me is getting in all the meals and snacks. Sometimes I forget my snack and next thing I know it's lunch or dinner.
