The removal of the basal cell was quite an ordeal. My head is still numb from the shots and the scar is about 2 inches long vertically right under my bangs. have to change the bandage 2x a day which goes into my hair which I am getting cut today.Hmmmmmm. And getting new glasses.
I believe that throwing stuff away is cathartic. So go for it Meme.

Saw that Neti Pot on a local tv channel and it works like the water pik. So I guess I will stick with that.
Maybe I should get Auntie a Neti pot for her bd-as usual I am stuck for ideas-she's turning 84 and is in better shape than me. She just bought me a velvet jacket and pants for Christmas-I think i will get a smaller gift so she will too-we are getting too extravagant. I buy her a lot of things and she thinks she has to do the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey gals, good, we needed a fresh start here. Was getting long.

It's hot here. I'm going to have to go buy an airconditioner for our little office. It is pitifully hot out there. Went out to sell a trailer this afternoon and couldn't breathe in there. I'll get the one we found at WM tomorrow when I go. It will just fit in the front window.

Hubby's aunt is driving me nuts. (His mom and dad are a close runner-up.) His mom called me last night and wanted me to order her some panties from Penny's ... said they were only on sale thru yesterday so I had to order them NOW ... very insistant. Said 'do you know how'? I said I thought I could manage to do that for her. So I asked her for the catalogue # ... long pause. I waited and then asked again if there was a number beside the article name. She said she couldn't find a # couldn't I just tell them what it was. I said no I needed a number. She said there wasn't one. I asked if she was sure she had a Peney's catalogue. She said she had a Penny's cirrucular. I said, is it a paper you picked up from the driveway today? She said, yes. I told her she had to go to the store and buy those and the store would be closed in a half hour. She said, oh ... well just forget in that case, I thought you could just call and have them sent to your house ... and hung up without another word. Hubby's aunt called today and asked me if I'd ever taken Zoloft. I told her no and she said ... w e l l l l ... I figured you had taken that before so I was hoping you could tell me all about it. I said again, no I never have. W e l l l l ... I NEED somebody to tell me about it. The dr. gave it to me and I need to know what it will do. I'm thinking about taking it. Hmmm ... I think I might just take some. This goes on for about 10 minutes. No ... I've never taken any etc ... I have to call her every night and one night this week she talked for 55 minutes round and round like that. Told me every move she made all day long. No ... I've never actually taken any but I'm thinking about getting some!!!

My poor, poor doggie. I have her on the front porch because I can't stand to fasten her up in the garage with no light or fresh air. She will go down the steps (there are only 3) but she won't go back up. I went out in the front yard and put her on the leash yesterday evening and lead her back up the steps to the porch so she would have her food, water and a rug to lay on and on the way back up she just yelped because it hurt her leg so bad. Bless her heart. I told hubby last night. He said we'd have to put her back in the garage but I said no we will not ... you'll just have to get out there tomorrow and make her a ramp so she can go up on the porch without hurting that leg. No telling how long it will take her leg to heal ... she can't stay in the garage all evening and night and it's supposed to rain for the next 2 days. I don't like to have to go take her out at night. He made the ramp. Now if I can just get her used to using it before it rains! I brought her up it today and she did ok. Another time or two and she should get it. She's a girl ... pretty smart!

Great idea-a ramp!!! We always improvise one for Alison when she's here.

I went to get glasses and I spent $454 for them. Just had to have the new frameless kind. Smaller. I actually though we were going to get a discount but maybe just Brad does.
Bible study-women-at a restaurant. On anxiety worry and stress. Angela may come. But she really wants to get a job.

It is hot here too. The bad thing is all the smoke and ash we are getting from the fires..I am staying in as much as I can.. Have to take Christie out and go to gro store though.Florida is in a bad way right now. Send us some of the rain you guys have..We need it to put out the fires..and for the drought.
My sons dog got arthritis so bad he couldn't get up or go out. He had to put him to sleep. Hope yours gets better Meme.
Yes Mima, I am enjoying my brothers visit. Poor Guy he has 3 sisters in Tarpon Springs.. He trys to split his time with all of us..

No ... haven't got the Neti Pot yet, but Oz ... on Oprah ... said it was better than a water pik because it didn't actually pressure the water through. It just ran through without pressure. I can't wait to try it. I'll let you know.

The ramp works great ... Sami doesn't like it, though. She goes down the steps and then I have to go out and lead her back up the ramp but at least she isn't hurting her leg or stayng out in the yard all day.

Went to the women's bible group-nice ladies-know 3 of them. Hoe to live above stress and worry. Angela didn't come but it's really for older women. And she wants to get a job at lunchtime.
What a great new restaurant-Jumpin Juice and Java-I had a tuna on pita bread-ate a third-will eat the tuna today on my own bread=and chai tea which was to die for. Next week I will just buy the tea. There's something about a women's group.
Angelina Virginia is here-Auntie's 5th great-granchild. We decided not to exchange bd presents-after I bought hers but that's ok-I can keep it or get a refund-I will still give her the giant bag of M and M's
for the children.
Have to go to Walmart, dollar store and ocean State.
I have to finish the shower gift-I have a quilt and will make a carry bag for it and some baby toys and call it a playmat. Didn't save any money making it but sure have fun .
I have been lethargic, crabby, and really hurting all week. Finally figured out that I cut down on prednisone for the bleeding on my forehead. I guess I am an addict. And it's such a low dose.
My incision still hurts-the stitches come out on Monday-sure hope it's healed well enough for that. I am already worrying about it. But then my forehead is still numb -Brad says they cut nerves-his heart incision is numb.

Meme, I'm just catching up on the post from the other thread. We feel fortunate with our vet like you do with Sami's vet. It makes a difference if you are comfortable with them. Putting organizers in the large closet sounds like a great idea. I wish our closets were bigger to have organizers in them. Please be careful with all of the things that you have planned to do!! Good idea about the ramp by the way.

Anne, the time is getting closer for your trip! I'm so excited for you!! After this trip, I think we are changing our minds about the long trip in June. Bob had trouble riding for very long. His legs kept going numb, then they would start twitching. Not sure what we'll do instead of heading west. I feel bad for Bob because it was his idea for the trip, and I know he would enjoy it.

We got home from Michigan yesterday afternoon. We had a wonderful time. Our stay at the Grand Hotel was a once in a lifetime experience. It was so elegant. We truly felt very special while we were there. I thought with the discounted price that our room would be a small one. We didn't have a view of the lake, but that was the only downside to it. We had a suite. It was decorated in a Chinese theme with lots of antiques. The bed was a 4-poster bed with a ceiling (not sure what to call it) on it. The sides were also boarded up. The only way into it was to climb on a stool and get in from the foot of the bed. Not very easy with my aches, but the mattress itself was so comfortable! Had no trouble sleeping.

We are heading to see my niece dressed up for her HS prom in a little bit. She's a very pretty girl, and she is so funny. I love being around her.

I made myself go for a walk-I still didn't sleep. What is going on?
I took a 5mg prednisone yesterday and felt so much better. We are going to Bobby's and Suzanne is bringing the food. She wasn't happy when I said I have to take a nap after church because we are there for 3 hours.

Took Tim back to school yesterday for the first summer session. His first class was at 7:30 this morning. He called after it and asked whose idea it was to take that early of a class. I laughed at him. He said there are very few people living in the dorm, so it seems very strange.

Joanne - yikes! I don't like fires, and smoke. I hope you had some kind of moisture to help you out. I know you will have enjoyed your daughters visit.

Tammy - Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday. I guess we all have to get to know our limits about travel. Good thing Bob found this our BEFORE you started out. That hotel sounds like it was a great deal for you. I guess the dorm's could feel like a cavern without many students in them.

Meme - hope your doggy is feeling a little better. Also, hope you got the AC for your new little office place. I certainly don't need to worry about AC here. We only need it for a couple of weeks each year. During those weeks, we just put up with it. My daughter did get one installed in her new house and it works through the furnace vents. It is very nice. They are putting AC into more and more condos as well, but not the window kind. These work with the heating system, and they don't make any noise.

I am going to start to pack some stuff today as we leave Wednesday morning. Not that far off. Have to do some running around as well - I need Traveller's Cheques! and my car needs an oil change. So, those will get looked after this morning.

We were in Edmonton for the weekend. Celebrated my DIL's birthday, my hubby's birthday, little Meela's 1st birthday (21 May) and Mother's Day. James, our gs, had a dance recital yesterday afternoon. That kid can really dance. He also does Tai Kwon Duo(sp). He is a real jumper!

We did have a nice MDay-I got $90 in gift cert from the 2 of them , Too much, But I did want new summer pants.
Evan got lost at church yesterday so Mike went looking for him . He was coming out of the bathroom with his underwear and pants, saying "I did it"". Luckily he had a long shirt on!!! Funny!!
I got my stitches out and it didn't even hurt and they took them all out-there was a question for a couple of minutes but I prayed.
Then I got plugs put into my eyes to moisten them.
Then I went to get something for supper and the store now carries my wheat free cookies-and they weren't even expensive. Man-I was happy .
My nice new shirt turned pink in the wash and it came out in the bleach.

Boy summer school started right away!!! Suzanne has 2 courses to get her MBA. She's psyched.

Hello Everybody- It was a nice M/D.. I got some nice earrings frim my son and dil and books gift cert and lotion frim my daughter. my hubby gave me money. I don't need anything but I am sure I will find a way to spend it.We all went out to eat at Golden Corral.. I didn't eat that much but by evening my IBS kicked in and I had a few uncomfortable hours..It may have been nerves.. My son and daughter are still fueding. At least they kept it under wraps yesterday. I can't understand why but it seems to go on and on.I'm staying out of it.. I get too upset...

Mima- I had the plugs put in my eyes several years ago. I am so glad I did. My eyesight is as good as they could get it.. My distance is not as good as I would like but what I have is better..
Tammy- Tell your son to get used to the early hours.He will probably be doing that the rest of his life..When he gets out of school.
Meme- How is your little poodle..? My pug is trying to eat up everything. I had to take the throw rugs out of the kitchun. Now she is eating the gate at the door and the door frames..We put duct tape on the wood she is eating on the gate and she is getting to that.I put her crate in front of it and she moved the crate to get to it..She has all kinds of chew toys. No excuse!!!I had spray to keep her away. No good. I even put hot sauce on it . She likes the hot sauce!!!laps it up..I am ready to drown her..

Joanne ... that's funny. And sometimes, I feel the same way about Ginger, just want to give her away. But I do love her. Yes, she is chewing. I bought her some rawhide sticks and make sure she always have several laying around to chew on. That really helps. Every now and then I'll give her a paper towel cardboard and let her chew the ends and tear it up. That usually keeps her entertained for at least 30 or 40 minutes while I'm cooking dinner. She loves it. Sometimes a plastic coolwhip container will do the same thing. Just a little something different than her toys. They are a lot like kids. I bought vanilla pretzels at PetCo and I reward her with little pieces of those when she goes on her paper or comes and tells me she has to go and when she comes when I call her. We have been working on that and she's got it down good. I'm starting on 'sit' now. So far she seems to be pretty smart. She sure loves hubby to death.

Sounds like everybody had a good MD. That was too funny about Evan. We went to lunch with the kids after church ... Mexican. It was good. Then went to see hubby's Mom. And I even got in a short nap. So it was a good day. Any day I get to see all the kids is a good day!

Been having headaches again. Not a good thing. Don't know what that's about. Probably stress. I think hubby and I are going to Nashville next weekend ... Sat & Sun. Maybe do a little shopping and go to a movie. He said I could stay in Life Way as long as I wanted to Sat. and he would stay in the van and sleep. He's so sweet! Life Way ... for those of you who don't have one, is a Christian Book & Music Store. They have more than just books and music. The one in Nashville is huge & I could stay in there all day.

Tammy ... I want to stay in a Hotel like you had! There's one in Nashville that has an indoor/outdoor heated pool. I guess we'll stay there - I want to swim. Plus, I'll get Marriott points.

Anne, sounds like you little gs is really talented. I bet Meela will be, too. Maybe she can learn to play an instrument. Then she can play for him to dance. Jenna went with me to the radio station and sang last Sun. I know about grandmother pride! Who knew these kids would be so much fun, huh?
