Red face W.O.W. Mother's Day Challenge Week 5 Thread!

Sorry if I'm stepping on any toes by starting this week's thread. How is everyone doing? OMGosh April just flew by! We have two weeks left in our challenge and even though I doubt I'm going to make my goal, I'm going to try my best to get as close as I can!

Hi Ladies- I'm going to the store today and get some good stuff to put in my frig. I'm completely out of fruit and all I have that counts as a veggie is broccoli and cauliflower. I was just reading a thread about what to put on a salad and I have a lot of good ideas to work with.

Jeni- I hope you and the kids are feeling better.

Holyteror- : Good news on your weight loss last week.

Love- I hardly never sew for myself. I'm working on special orders I've received from my website. I've made 6 pioneer dresses (all going to different states) and a whale costume this month.

Shari- I would love to quilt. That is my goal to do someday. I just got a cat quilt book and I'm thinking about trying to make some for gifts.

I'm afraid this is going to be another challenge I'm not going to make the goal. I'm going to try very hard to stay on program better and get my workouts in. I didn't walk all last week because of being busy around here. I have to find time for myself. The weathers suppose to be nice this week except for rain tomorrow so mayvbe I'll get my walks outside this week. I think I'll walk to the library and check out their exercise videos. I still haven't made it there.

Today's weed:
W- work on getting the 3-4 bottles in
E- Walk at least 1.5 miles. I might even try and do 2 walks today.
E- Eat more veggies
D- I have to get back on track. I slipped last week so it's back to weed this week!!

(I posted this on last week's thread, so I moved it over where it belongs )

Hey everyone -- I've missed you guys!! It's like old friends, I think of you a lot but life gets in the way of staying in touch

I'm doing a 12 week challenge in another thread and lost 4 lbs this week!! I'm so excited and it seems to be what I needed to get motivated again.

Jeni -- Sorry work is crazy -- I hate complaining people. That's what makes me the most nervous about returning to work next year when Nicholas starts school, I just don't think I have the patience for annoying people anymore!! I hope you feel better and I hope Makie feels better too.

Paula -- You'd be proud of me!! After all your sewing, you got me in the mood. I'm making a memory quilt for my sister-in-law to give to someone. A 2 year old little boy from the preschool she works at passed away, so it's going to have a picture of him in the middle and the other kid's handprints on all the squares.

Hope everyone else is doing well and meeting all the challenges every day throws at you.

I never did set a goal for this challenge, but I guess if there was anything, it would have been to get myself back on track, I wandered so far away from my goal for a while. It's nice to have my head back on straight!!!

Good morning everyone. How ya'll doing?

Shelby - 4lbs!!! Congrats. Getting back on track is the biggest goal of them all and you certainly seem to have accomplished that. Keep up the good work.

Paula, I hear you, weekends over, time to restock on the veggies. I'm down to cauliflower and some string beans. I am definitely headed to restock. I love shopping for produce and seeing what's on sale and what's looking especially yummy week to week. Nothing makes me happier then seeing my fridge filled with good, wholesome foods. Ummm, was that me that just wrote that? Sheesh, how times have changed.

Shari, yeah, April was kind of a blur. Too fast in fact.

Jeni, work sounds really hectic. Sorry to hear about your little accident at work and then the fact that you weren't feeling too well. I hope you are 100% now and things go smoothly for you this week.

I've been super duper busy. Lots and lots of paperwork and other stuff as well. But I had a great on plan week, lots of exercise, lots and lots of water and ensuing trips to the bathroom and lots of good healthy foods, though not too much, stayed well within my calorie allotment. Weighed in this morning at 161. So I am down 4 lbs this week!! Inching toward the 150's. I am really excited about that.

I hope everyone else is well. Have a great healthy, on plan day/week everyone.

Paula ~ My best friend rocks at crocheting (sp?). I wish I could do stuff like that but my hands are too clumsy. I'll end up pricking my fingers to death.

WOOOOT Shelby and Robin! 4 lbs!

I'm back from WalMart- I didn't do as well as I would have liked. I got bagged salad mix, head of lettuce, grapes, cucumbers, green onions, green, yellow and orange peppers, grape tomatoes and slicing tomatos. I had to really search for YELLOW bananas. They got in a new stock so they were all gree. I like then almost over ripe. I think I'll go to the uppity store and see what they have on the clearance veggies. Sometimes they have some good sales. I know they have sweet corn and seedless watermelons on sale. The last oranges and grapefruit I got there were delicious. OK I've talked my self into it. I'm going back out to spend some more money on more mealthy foods.

Robin- : WOW another 4 pounds. You rock!!!

Shari- I also crochet. Not as much as I used to though. I love to cross stitch, but that doesn't happen very much either. No way would you prick yourself with a crochet hook. You should get a skein of yarn and 1 hook and give it try. While your hands are busy you can't eat as much.

OK back to the store.

Hi girls! Shelby, you said it best for me, about still caring about your old friends even if you don't get a chance to post and catch up every day.

The weather was so nice Sunday, we stayed outside ALL day! We found a new park close to our home and went there, it was really nice, and I got my DH his new roller blades for his bday and he got to skate, Robert did his Heelys with him around the track--he's getting good at them, I didn't know they'd be so hard to learn/get good at them....and Rachel and I played on the swings the whole time. One section of the park was a little fitness playground, bars and such for things like pullups, situps, dips, etc...it was huge. Made me realize how much easier these things are at the gym with assist machines. I tried the roller blades but it was HARD! I almost fell down so many times! You really have to have strong ankles to ride them!

Eating wise, just okay....yesterday was great but Saturday was good, until the drinking started...the usual~ since bowling league is over, our Saturday nights are EMPTY! But some friends came over and brought a margarita bucket (YUM!) but it was strawberry~double YUM but double CALORIES! We pretty much polished it off....

Exercise wise doing well, gym friday and saturday (closed on sunday but we did go to the park) and I'll be getting there today. Oh question~do your husbands work out too? My DH wants me to "train" him to lift weights. I assume (and I posted it under Ladies Who Lift) that I can just have him do the same routine I do, with heavier weights. So we're looking foreward to that.

Work wise, had a few good nights last week. This week I work Tues/Thurs/Friday nights so it's going to be a tough one.

Kid wise, Rachel is doing the potty thing COMPLETELY, except pullups at bedtime, which do end up soaked by the morning so we're not ready there yet. Robert LOVES his soccer games, they've won both games so far (9-1, and 4-3) he's kind of a little guy so he doesn't get a lot of ball time! And there are two girls (sisters) who seem to have played soccer ALOT before and they are really fast and good. So they mostly do all the scoring. He can't wait for his turn to be goalie so that should be fun. I got to go to the first game but the second I slept thru (work the night before)

Well crap, now is the part where I go into personals, but Rachel needs her lunch. xoxoxoxo you all, be back in a bit !

Paula ~ The uppity store? LMAO I might try this crochet thing when I get a chance. I used to bead alot and I was going to take that back up when I got the time and money.

Michelle ~ You know, I've never had a margarita. Happy that Rachel is getting the hang of the potty training thing and Robert likes soccer. My little brother said he wanted to play soccer but he got on the football team instead and LOVED it. He hasn't gotten his growth spurt yet so I still worry about him.

Shari- You know... The store that the snobby people go to. You can't take the shopping carts into the parking lot so they have a drive up for you to get your groceries and they put them in your car for you. The prices are more expensive too. I went to check out the discounted veggies and fruits and they didn't have anything today.

Jeni -- glad you all feel better. 36 hours off -- wow! What are you going to do? Don't be like me and try to catch up on everything around the house, go have fun

Paula -- We have a reverse store here of yours -- you have to actually buy the grocery bags and it's all scratch and dents from other stores!! I would have to go into the "city" to find a snobby store!!

Shari -- Try cross stitch if you want to kill time -- takes forever and is pretty cheap for a set and they always turn out great.

Michelle -- Awesome with the potty training with Rachel. The nights are always the hardest, to me mostly because I works nights (9 to 1 a.m. or so) and I'm too tired to have to change sheets at 3:00 a.m.!! My sister gave me rollerblades for Christmas when I was about 28 -- unfortunately that was also the Christmas I announced I was pregnant for my first son, I think they are still in the box in the basement. I want to get into bowling at some point -- I like "causual sports", where it's for fun mostly, but I would be laughed out at this point -- my 7 year old does better than I do!!!

Robin -- You are still doing so well -- amazing -- we are all so proud of you How is being a moderator going? You are all over the place now!!!

Paula ~ OOOOOH! I guess that would be Publix or any grocery store 'over the hill' down here. That's where all the 'well to do' people live.

YAY Jeni! Glad you are feeling better and you got so much time off work.

WI was this morning and I'm down 5.8 lbs this week.

Yesterday was a good day. I'm glad I got the healthy food back in the house. We grilled last night and it was yummy. I got my walk in. I ended up doing the treadmill because it looked like rain and they were predicting strong thunder storms. It ended up not even sprinkling here. Oh well at least I walked and that's the important thing. The sun is shining today so maybe I'll get outside and walk with the dog today.

Michelle- My hubby does a lot of things that is exercise. He goes to Tai Chi on Mondays and Kung Fu 1-3 times depending on his summer golf schedule. This week he won't be doing Kung Fu at all and will golf 2Xs. He just started the Tai Chi and Kung Fu at the beginning of the year or late last year. He is very stressed and I thought the Tai Chi might help him slow down. He also has the dirt bike that he rides on the weekends. He's going on a weekend trip to MI so I'll have the house to myself. WOOHOO!

The sun is shining and I'm thinking about going out in the backyard and check out the flower gardens situation. I have to get the birdbath back together and put water in it for them. I plan on going for a walk with the dog later on.
