Smile Newbie here!

Hi! I'm new to 3FC but not to SBD. I've made a couple of feeble attempts at South Beach over the last 4 or 5 years, but now it's time for me to get serious! I'm a Lifetime WW who has gained back all of her weight (33 lbs) I know it's a great program, but I just couldn't bear going to another meeting....so here I am. I'm feeling a little over-whelmed after pulling out my SBD books, so I'm hoping to get some clarity while I sit here and read all of your wonderful posts.

I plan to start SBD tomorrow (Monday 4.23.07) and just wanted to introduce myself! Thanks for all the great info on these boards - looking forward to getting to know you!

Hi Bellaluna,

I'm so very glad you decided to join us. Yes, everything can seem very overwhelming at first. The biggest thing is to just get going. You might consider making one small change each day until your research is complete..cutting out all sugar, eating breakfast, more veggies, more water, more lean protein...and no white stuff...rice, pasta, bread, etc. You will be amazed at how the small changes can add up to big results.

I also recommend reading through the Goals and mini-goals forums for additional inspiration. And, please come here and chat with us each day...we will be happy to provide all of the support and encouragement you need. I look forward to getting to know you and continuing this journey with you.

Rhonda - thank you also for the welcome and for your reassuring post! Taking things slowly is something I need to work on - I'm a total 'all or nothing' kinda gal! I will definitely read the Goals Forum! CONGRATS to you as well on your loss - keep up the great work!

Thanks again!

Hi Bellaluna! I am new here as well and am starting the SBD today also. I have done WW and like it but am inspired by this diet. A girl at work lost 25 lbs, had always done WW but loves this. Good luck!

glittergirl - can you believe as I sit here this morning, I'm still not sure if today is the day?! I keep vacilating between SBD, Fat Smash and the YOU on a Diet - and I tell ya, I'm about to make myself NUTS!! What Rhonda posted really got me thinking (thanks again, Rhonda!) so I might start my day with taking little steps to eating healthier....sorry to ramble, but I'm just sooo confused!! Anyway, good luck to you!! Keep us posted!

Nessa - I had to LOL at the "I'm old..." part of your post! I like a girl with a sense of humor! CONGRATS to you on 50lbs - woohoo!!

Thanks so much to each of you for your kind posts, they are greatly appreciated! (((HUGS)))

ya know what though... any plan that has

healthy eating (whole foods, good fats, good carbs, low sugar) in moderate amounts
drinking water in abundance
moving (exercise)

is gonna work

So true, Miss Nessa....so true!

I just had Shredded Wheat with skim milk for breakfast - which of course, I realize isn't SBD Phase I friendly, but a healthy choice all the same!

Ruth - thank you for the Welcome! I will most certainly join you in the other threads ....can I still hang around with y'all even if I don't decide to do SBD at this time?!
