Happy Holy Hump Day! Daily Chat 4/4

  • Hi, all! Not sure if I'm alone here, but I'm really focused on this being Holy Week; I'm in the choir at church and we sing every day starting tonight. We had rehearsal last night, so our only day off is Monday...my throat is going to HURT by Sunday night!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday...filled with tons of motivation to last through the weekend!

Stay warm...hear we're due for some snow in this part of the world...weird, since it was 70* yesterday!
  • I'm enjoying my coffee while waiting for DS to drop off Amber. I'm taking her along with me to work for the rest of the week since she's on her Spring Break. Audrey & Maggie are delighted, although Audrey won't get to play with her until after school. Their cousins left yesterday, so at least I won't be overrun with kids.
Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day when the sun finally broke through, but it's raining today. We'll spend the day doing arts & crafts, and maybe baking some banana bread.

Beachgal, I hope you had a fun weekend celebrating your birthday! Drink plenty of water and hot tea to keep those vocal chords lubricated, and stay warm!
  • Good morning, Beachers! Can you smell the garlic and onions? We have a Seder supper Thursday night and I'm making Chicken Marengo as my contribution. We have 60 people coming so I sure have a mess of chicken to cook. I refuse to use the recipe I was handed - it was basically just boiling chicken in tomatoes! Mine will be more authentic with olives, garlic and wine!

Beachgal, I really miss singing in a choir at this time of year. The United Church here in Delta does an Easter Cantata and, if I weren't do darn busy, I'd be singing along with them.

Cottage, I imagine you as a real Mary Poppins with all the kidlets and activities. It must really keep you young!

Time to schlep the garbage out to the road - in the rain!
  • Rain Rain Go Away...come back

Beachie! Hope you had a wunnerful scrapbooking time--and birfday! Sounds like you have a hole week planned of holy things... You sing too?!!! I love choir music..I find some so soothing and others uplifting! Yep best take care of them vocal chords! I'm tone deaf and have a horrible voice...doesn't stop me from singing, but I'm sure others wish it did

Cottage: Ruth is right --our own Mary Poppins in da coop!

Ruth: 60 people That's some mess a chickens yer gonna have to cook up! Sounds like you'll be chained to that kitchen!

    AnnaRenee: on yer job interview!

Rain expected here alll day today... I'll need to take a double dose of benedryl to keep me ear tubes from swelling up. which means I'll be a walkin zombie Ah well, they're getting better so one step in front of the other! Today is Baked Ziti with WW pasta, and this morn is on-line lectures on mathematical models and such... Why can't I just to this ?

  • Love the danc broc. Good morning chicks. The sun is shinning but it is chilly here this morning. Life is good, I am feeling pretty good, must be the water. Although I am still feeling crampy. Well gotta to dash a million things to do on my to do list. See ya.
  • MMMmmm...
I'm back and with a vengence. While we never quit with the whole grains and veggies and what not a lot of junk creeped back in...hubby gained back all 40 lbs he lost and i gained back 13 lbs...sick of it. Back on the beach now.

Hoping it will be easier now that I'm working and not in school too. Oh well. wanted to stick my head in and say hello and hope you all have a wonderful weds
  • Hi all. Happy Wednesday. Feeling kind of yucky and headachy over here today. Hopefully this will pass soon. I decided I would drink a little diet coke with my headache medication I took. Probably should withdraw from one thing at a time, starting with the sugar/bad carbs. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. It is cold here again. Ugghhh!! I was just getting used to the warm weather and looking forward to giving my baby girl her 1st swimming pool for Easter and now she won't even be able to use it.
  • Morning all Beachers...day 3 here and its Wednesday....Happy Hump Day to All. Lets all think positive thoughts today, We can do this......
  • Happy Wednesday! My last day in the office with five of my coworkers gone at a conference. You would think it would be peaceful, but it seems those of us who are left just chat away most of the day. I hate to be rude - but leave my office and let me get something done! Then agian, what I want to get done (and made great process of this morning) is my resume and cover letter so I can look for a new job. I love what I do, but am tired of living in college housing and need a live-off posistion in the near future. My boss knows I want a change and has even sent me job postings, but I need to get myself motivated. Change is hard and scary, but I am trying to embrace it!

Tonight I have a massage scheudle for myself. DH is out with the guys every Wednesday and I usually spend it reading and napping, today I decided I needed more pampering than that. I may try to run a few errands beforehand (want to get them done today, as it is already cold and rainy and tomorrow they expect snow), so that I can come home to a glass of wine and no demands!

    Talk to you soon...
    Ally

  • Yay for Wednesday, everybody! So glad that this week is a short week, I've had a heck of a time at work.

beachgal: Singing in the choir must be wonderful! Our church is very small and we only have two people to sing. Have a wonderful holy week and drink yourself some hot tea to soothe those vocal chords!

Cottage: Mary Poppins indeed! Have a wonderful time doing arts and crafts. Banana bread, yum! I love baking it for DH, but I couldn't avoid the temptation right now!

Ruth: Chicken for 60 -yikes! Hope you didn't get too muddy schleping the trash out!

Schatzi: Sometimes being a walking zombie is nice. Hope your ears and the skies clear up!

Littlechick: Sorry about the cramps. Sounds like you need a hot water bottle and a little R&R.

lotusblossom: Back! Working and going to school sure does make it hard to stay on track. I bet it will be easier for you now!

ciarasmommy: Hope you get to feeling better soon. It really is tough to give up everything at once. It's definitely smart to focus on one thing right now...maybe I should do the same. I hope the weather improves so your baby girl can enjoy her swimming pool!

tx: Thanks for the positive sentiments! We could all really use it!

amasam:Mmmmm...I would love a massage and I hope you enjoy your evening of pampering...sounds like fun!

ME: Things are going well here. Stepped on the scale this morning and I'm down 5 lbs since Monday. I love how positive P1 is for me! I'm over half way to my April goal already!!! Yippee!

The movie last night was a lot of fun. My coworker's friends weren't able to make it, but it was still nice. That movie (Wild Hogs) was hilarious! I got home and wanted to tell DH about it, but I knew he wanted to see it. So, we're going tonight!! (Good thing the movies are only $5 here!) It has a little more cussing than I usually tolerate, but it was definitely funny. See it if you have a chance!

Time to get back to work. Hope all you chickadees have a beachy rest of the day!

    ~Kim
  • KimGoodness 5 lbs-way to go girl!

RuthChicken Marengo--you are making me hungry. Is this receipe posted anywhere?

Schatzi I sure am glad that I don't have to take anymore math. God Bless her memory-Amen

For Holy week we did something different at daycare. On tuesday we served Matzah for snack. Today we served Kugel--A Jewish noodle dish. Tomarrow we are having our Easter dinner. Boy am I really going to have to be very careful not to overdo it. I really think that I will be going on ph1 again after Easter.
  • Just finished putting together my eggplant lasagna and it is in the oven. Boy, that was a lot of work. I think I messed up on a few things. I used to large of a casserole dish or to small of an eggplant, I think probably the first since all of my stuff was the perfect amount. Also I blanched the eggplant for 2 mins. and it was so soggy it was falling apart. Most of it anyway, the ones with seeds in them. Hopefully it will still taste good. I must say this is my first ever experience making lasagna. I am so hoping to have a great dinner. Also don't think I will be able to have any of the ricotta desserts tonight, since I used all ricota in my lasagna, I hate cottage cheese. I will let you all know how it turns out. I am actually feeling better right now, so that's a good thing. Especially when you have a 15 mo. old to chase around the house and pull off of the tables, ect. My wild child.
  • I thought I'd pop in and say Hi before something else came up. I've actually got a free night so I'm going to try to make it to the gym. I've got dinner in the crockpot and this is Brian's gymnastic's class night so I don't have to be home as early. Thank goodness Friday is a holiday from work (although I have to work Thursday night around midnight). At least I can sleep in.
